Unfortunately, Adobe released this version for i686 only and the x86_64 port was discontinued[2] leaving the x86_64 package vulnerable. Because of that, we cannot build an updated version for x86_64. While we considered pulling the x86_64 package from our repositories, for now we will leave it up to our users to remove it or keep it installed. We suggest using alternative options for running flash-based on x86_64 systems or using the flashblock extension for firefox and chromium. The new recruits would be mentored in the maintenance of a group of packages by a current developer, with the objective of eventually becoming a co-maintainer or the primary maintainer of those packages. Interested people should be prepared to read upstream mailing lists for the packages they are maintaining, investigate and (if necessary) follow-up with upstream any bug reports that are made on their packages. They should also have been using Arch Linux for a while and be familiar with the packaging system. The recently released update of vim/gvim (7.2.411) introduces a few important changes. * We have moved vim/gvim to a single PKGBUILD following the splitpkg format. * If you have gvim installed, the update will inform you that vim conflicts with gvim. This is the expected behavior. Installation of vim and gvim separately is no longer required, the gvim package now installs vim as well. * Installation of either vim or gvim will pull in a new dependency, vim-runtime. The files included in vim-runtime were pre-existing in both the gvim and vim packages. This update allows a cleaner update path for future vim/gvim updates. Enjoy!
