Hi all,
dexed, the well-known software synth closely modelled on the Yamaha DX7,
recently added a standalone program to its deliverables. Since dexed is
based on JUCE, adding JACK audio support to the standalone version was
also easy:
https://github.com/asb2m10/dexed/issues/131
To reflect this develoment, I have renamed the AUR package
'dexed-vst-git' to 'dexed-git' (merge pending) and have also created a
new package 'dexed' for release 0.9.4 of dexed:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/dexed-git/https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/dexed/
Both packages install the native VST plugin and the standalone program,
an icon and a desktop file.

Chris

Btw. I'm going to replace my MIDI master keyboard by a guitar. I don't
know how good or bad something like a Godin xtSA Synth Access Trans
Black guitar is compared to a normal guitar with this Roland GK-3
pickup.
After watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VS0dc4aGJ0 my way to go
is definitively a Roland GR-55, but since I'm a hardrock musician, I
can't get friend with this Borg thingy, since the cable from the hex
Roland GK-3 pickup to the bizarre thingy is in the way, when playing
guitar.
I try to find another solution, perhaps a Godin xtSA Synth Access Trans
Black, if the type of guitar neck as well as the action should be ok.
has got anybody on this list experiences with MIDIfied guitars?

Hi all,
I just pushed two new AUR packages (release and git version) for
*tunefish4*, an additive wavetable-based synthesizer in VST format.
https://www.tunefish-synth.com/https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/tunefish4https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/tunefish4-git
Previously only the project's binary release was packaged, but this
version stopped working some time ago and I requested deletion of that
package.
The new packages still have "4" in the name, because Tunefish exists in
different incarnations - Tunefish 2, 3 and 4 - and "tunefish4" is used
in several places/paths in the source code. But version 2 is Windows
only and, AFAICS, there's no source code available for version 3, so I'm
not sure, whether the package shouldn't be simply called "tunefish".
What do you think?

Hi all,
I created an AUR package for the hydrogen drumkits, which are
downloadable from their sourceforge site. Like the existing
'hydrogen-drumkits' package it installs the drumkits to
/usr/share/hydrogen/data/drumkits/ but compresses all sample files to
FLAC beforehand and changes the drumkit.xml files accordingly.
This reduces the installed size quite a bit without loss of quality.
