For a short description of the issue, see: [[https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/1405]] However, we must also note that Archweb is now newer than the Archweb release used by Parabola. Nonethless, as far as I know, each of the files still exist, although some of them don't even have license indication for the site's visitor (this is true for "visualize/static/visualize.js" and "mirrors/static/mirror_status.js"). In case of doubt, I might be able to help with some of the points described in the referenced issue. When the system is very low on resources, select() may return 0 even when wpa_supplicant is alive and kicking. Don't disconnect as soon at that occurs - wait three times and clearly log it. Can anyone update the message to include a list of supported tags, or link to an article/wiki with information? Back on topic: This is a small patch I had for 2 months and I thought about getting upstreamed. In particular - on certain workloads my system can get really low on memory (and available fds). With the patch in place, wpa_actiond no longer kills my connection although in practise I never seen two consecutive "wpa_supplicant failed to reply (PONG)" messages. [arch-projects] [namcap] Question about transient dependencies

Hello developers, Does anyone know why namcap considers transient dependencies a good thing? The terminology I use might be a bit confusing - I'm thinking of "dependency-covered-by-link-dependence" I've had a quick look through the namcap code, plus the wiki but could not see anything. I do agree that it does make the dependency chain a lot shorter. At the same time the respective package does depend on it directly, hence it should be in the list? FWIW most/all other distributions already do so - Fedora, Debian, Suse and others. Can anyone share some light on the topic? References to previous discussions or any reading material will be appreciated. Thanks Emil

[arch-projects] [devtools] Question about installing runtime dependencies at build time

Hello Arch developers, After an upstream issue reported by Laurent Carlier (aka lordheavy) Istarted wondering why builds fail on his end and not my (Arch) machine. The key difference seems to be that he's using devtools, whereas I do not. After a further chat, I got the impression that devtools installs runtime dependencies before/alongside(?) as the PKGBUILD build/install target is issued. This doesn't sound quite right to me. Shouldn't it be done, only on runtime scenarios - say the check target? Of course, I could be missing something so if anyone has some pointers that will be appreciated. Thanks Emil
