I was wondering when there would be a new install iso and if there is
anything I can help out with to get it out the door.
I would be willing to help with mostly anything except aif, since I am
working on a custom install script called inky which aims to be much
simpler then aif.
more details about inky at - https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=109335
Hello
What do you think about this? Is not perfect, but at least can make more
people happy.
* A simple demo script that can be added to syslinux-iso profile.
* Needs lilo (for keytab-lilo perl script) and kdb (for keymaps)
* Some keymaps require unicode support, otherwise will fail. So maybe
(if this is implemented) lilo can als provide a keymap-lilo-unicode
(below is how this can be generated)
* Each keymap file takes only 256 bytes.
* The script is here: https://gist.github.com/714822
A much better keymap support is using gfxboot.c32, but this is another
history ;)

I'd like to have autodetection for 64 bit CPUs. I have attached a patch for
archiso2dual, which works fine - however, as the configuration file is split
into several files, I don't know how to make this work with archiso2dual's -S
option. Does anyone have an idea on how to do this?

Hi Baurzhan,
The arch-releng list was created for archiso/aif/installation related
things. I've forwarded this mail there, but it is public, so you are
free to join it.
Cheers, and sorry for the late response

Hi, Aaron!
I wrote a simple patch for Archiso to support fromiso boot option, but
I can't post it in arch-dev-public list, since it requires right
permissions.
Maybe, you can forward this mail to that maillist.
I don't need write access to that list, I just want to introduce such
a useful possibility of Archiso.

Subject: Archiso and fromiso boot option
Hi, all
I researched about fromiso boot option for archiso boot scripts and
wrote a simple patch.
I've attached it. It is too simple, but works fine for me, with my
VFAT formatted USB drive.
fromiso allows you to boot your custom Archiso based LiveCD from ISO
image file, with grub2 'isoloop' support.
Here is part of my grub.cfg file
menuentry "Archik fromiso" {
loopback loop /archik-1.07-i686.iso
linux (loop)/boot/vmlinuz26 fromiso=/dev/sdb1/archik-1.07-i686.iso
initrd (loop)/boot/myarch.img
}
