I quickly wrote these lines as a workaround to ignore issue I was having #!/bin/bash # Group name group_pkgs='xorg-drivers' # Package to ignore ignore_pkg='xf86-video-intel-sna' # Load up xorg_pkgs with group packages less ignored driver xorg_pkgs=$(pacman -Sg xorg-drivers | \ sed -e "s/$group_pkgs //g" -e "/${ignore_pkg}/d") # Simply a way to check variable is loaded echo $xorg_pkgs You can simply load up $xorg_pkgs into mkarchiso in build script or push output to a file your choice. Have added a bug report to Arch Bugs but not holding my breath.... MrG

I am currently loading xorg-driver group packages from a package list, overnight thought about adding ignore package to pacman.conf but now get xf86-video-intel-sna is in IgnorePkg/IgnoreGroup. Install anyway? [Y/n] Of course this means error: unresolvable package conflicts detected error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies) :: xf86-video-intel-sna and xf86-video-intel-uxa are in conflict Is there a way or possible addition of a feature that will take notice of any packages I do not want installed? MrG

[arch-releng] New xorg drivers conflict

With the now release of xorg intel drivers, I am now unable to build archiso using xorg-drivers package. Getting the following error: Enter a selection (default=all): resolving dependencies... looking for inter-conflicts... error: unresolvable package conflicts detected error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies) :: xf86-video-intel-sna and xf86-video-intel-uxa are in conflict Can install drivers from a list [the plan at the moment]. More of a warning to other Iso builders .... MrG

However, sometimes changes in one project require changes in another for example sometimes aif needs to be adjusted to work with archiso changes, the same will hold true for install-scripts I don't see how you can "decouple the projects" any more. If you want to attract more people to help out on archiso or install-scripts, that's all fine by me, but I doubt you'll get more help by merely not having aif on the iso. I've never felt entirely comfortable dealing with the whole iso building process, precisely because it's depending on "hidden" factors of the host OS.
