remove_deps already has a check and won't run unless -r is specified, so if this was meant to remove dependencies of a failure no matter what, then it's not doing it, and with -r it is run twice on a failure for no real reason. Previously, the check was only run locally, as a result the local parent_location had to be used in the source array. makepkg will fallback to this behavior for offline builds. The pkgver() function is now fully documented in PKGBUILD(5), including several usage examples taken from ArchWiki. The "Using VCS Sources" section now states that CVS and Darcs are not natively supported in makepkg. The example PKGBUILD for 'patch' was rather basic and lacked the prepare() and check() functions. The PKGBUILD was also rather dated compared to the current, official PKGBUILD. The new example PKGBUILD is a lot more complete and displays more features of makepkg. From: Alucryd <alucryd(a)gmail.com> Currently, you can pull bzr repos using different URLs like "lp:" "http://" or "https://" in the source array. This works well the first time, but when you want to build the package again and update the local repo, makepkg will run 'bzr config parent_location' to check if the local repo is the same as the distant one. Except the reported URL is generally not the one used in the source array (which is valid nonetheless) and will fail with a non helpful error message. This patch makes makepkg print the correct reported URL so that it can be manually changed in the source array. I, and Gary van der Merwe who wrote the bzr support, realize this may not be the best approach as it prevents people from using the convenient "lp:" URLs, but for the time being people will stop wondering why their valid URLs are rejected.
