[pacman-dev] [PATCH] makepkg: allow the use of only a package() function

For some packages, generally the 'any' arch ones, a build step is not required and therefore can be skipped. In these cases, a package() function without a build() one is sufficient. As a side effect, this commit makes meta packages without any function at all in the PKGBUILD possible. Fixes FS#15147. In some case, the install script of split packages was not included in the sourceballs. This was due because split packages can specify their install script in the package functions. They also can use several install scripts. hi. i wanted to make a new bsd db4 back-end for alpm. but i never reached my goal. and will not all i have is a proof of concept code that use bsd db4 api to store pmpkg_t and wanted to share it with anyone (interested ?) i have coded 3 utilities: - one that converts pacman's db into a bsd db4 file for each repo - one that reads that new db format to perform query as pacman does - one that converts directly a tarball db (taken from a sync mirror) into a bsd db4 file if this proves useful for someone, great. I have a lot of spam in my pacman.log now. I guess the main problem is that it logs everything, including all operations which are canceled and not executed. See for example the last part of my log , where I was just checking the effect of remove flags.
