Hi All, It's great that "pacman" finally has native colour support in v4.1.0. It's just a shame that it's not as good as that of "pacman-color". Without meaning any offence, it falls way short of the mark IMHO. I'm hoping you can just replicate the colourisation of "pacman-color". For your convenience, I've attached the relevant files you'd need. I'm only requesting this because "pacman-color" no longer exists. -- Regards, Xavion.

Now we have .SRCINFO in source packages, it would be easy to add the source packages to a repository and have pacman be able to access them. This will kill ABS in Arch! There are two ideas on how this should be handled: 1) Add source package information in the .db file if it is there when a package is added or 2) Have a separate .source repository I have listed the pros/cons of each approach here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/User:Allan/Pacman_Source_Repositories I personally like #2, because adding them to .db files is a major increase in size. Currently, signatures take up ~55% of the average sync database size. With the source package also having a signature, that increases the db by slightly more than that much again. Any other comments to add to the debate before I make a final decision and implement this? Cheers, Allan

Initially, this list is populated with a single directory: /usr/share/alpm/hooks/. This directory is intended for packages to be able to place hooks in a front-end agnostic manner. Front-ends may specify any number of additional directories to search, with later directories overriding earlier ones. Front-ends can disable hooks altogether by setting an empty list. = Parsing Hooks = Configured directories are scanned for files matching '*.hook'. Hook files must be in pacman-style INI format with the following available options: [Trigger] (multiple Trigger sections allowed) Operation = Sync|Remove (Required) Type = File|Package (Required) Target = <Path|PkgName> (Required, multiple allowed) [Action] (only one Action section allowed) When = PreTransaction|PostTransaction (Required) Exec = <Command> (Required) Depends = <PkgName> (Optional) AbortOnFail (Optional, PreTransaction only) Unlike pacman.conf multiple values are *not* allowed on a single line. Exec is currently limited to the path of the executable to run, arguments are not allowed. To not block the GUI, I run trans_commit function in a g_thread and I can't use SIGINT signal. I have no way to correctly stop curl process. Hi, working on a GUI frontend for libalpm, I noticed that download process lakes for an internal interrupt mechanism. Download cancellation is only handled by catching SIGINT signal. I think it would be a benefit for libalpm to have more correct download interrupt mechanism like trans_interrupt handle package transaction cancellation. I'm already working on a patch and I would like to know if you would interested in adding this feature to libalpm. Regards.
