The merge window for 1.4.0 will close Friday, 9/28. After that, just regressions/bugfixes will be pulled. I may cherrypick one or two fixes and roll a 1.3.2 before then. I am working on merging masters from the following people into my testing branch: eliott (done) louipc tardo xilon It probably does make sense for folks to rebase off of the release repo at this point (http://git.mattal.com/aur), if they want their changes incorporated. There were substantial conflicts merging from everyone but eliott, and I am not sure how long it will take me to sort all of that out. If you want your stuff to get, please work on eliminating conflicts between your repos and mine; hopefully this will be a 1-time hassle and then we'll be into smooth sailing. I will generally do my merging work on the subzero checkout, and push things pack to the public repo when I've sanity checked them. The upshot of this-- you can use the subzero url to effectively monitor the state of my testing branch. As we get close to a stable release, I'll probably switch subzero over to the stable tree, but I'll announce that when it happens. https://subzero.elys.com - P

In my working branch today, I got a json remote package search working. It might be a little rough, so check it out if you are brave. Currently in my 'testing' branch. I have some test code here: http://www.archlinux.org/~eliott/zomgstuff/rpc_examples.tar.gz An example in python, as well as an example in html/javascript (using jQuery). For testing, make sure you configure the target url manually in the respective python or html file(s). The python version is VERY SIMPLE. Just edit the file and run. A more robust test harness could probably be written with the python one...that takes some command line args and such. Anyway..my hope is this may be useful for some of the people that have command line tools. JSON is alot easier to parse than scraping the html output....

So far, I've merged successfully from eliott and tardo. Louipc is working on a cleaner set of patches for me and rebasing. I'm going to look over his changes in the meanwhile and see how they will fit in with the other UI work being done. I still get substantial conflicts merging from xilon. Has thralas's git disappeared or changed repo URLs? I still have git://ius.student.utwente.nl/aur but can't seem to fetch from there. Thanks for all your hard work! - P

Noticed some things when I was browsing Paul's mock AUR site and wrote some tiny patches. These are more cosmetic if anything, so I would probably advise cherry-picking the ones you feel should apply. "Required by" now sorts by name. I forgot to include an "ORDER BY Name" clause for the SQL statement. http://git.nagi-fanboi.net/?p=aur.git;a=commit;h=1e55aa57643f166c0bbc8c6f5b… BoxTitle aligns to the left. I noticed that all the box titles aligned to the left. Don't know if this was intended but this patch should align it to the right (which I think makes it looks better). http://git.nagi-fanboi.net/?p=aur.git;a=commit;h=f62b662255f3416e5c1c647a06… Messages run across colspan=3 Messages under "Tarball::Files" seemed to wrap around depending on font size, browser window size, etc. Since we now have three boxes, this patch allows it to span across all three columns. http://git.nagi-fanboi.net/?p=aur.git;a=commit;h=0aee091a1f98c6a9004e132f0b… Official package links in deps/requiredby now point to the AL homepage. Previously the packages used <a href='#'>$pkgname</a> which gave the impression it was a link but did absolutely nothing. This patch points each official package to www.archlinux.org/package/search/$pkgname which returns search results for the package. I don't know the structure of the Al site so I can't figure out a way to point directly to that package. Effective immediately, the main AUR git repo now lives on projects.archlinux.org. You can find the web interface easily by visiting: http://projects.archlinux.org The new pull url is: http://projects.archlinux.org/git/aur.git To eliminate confusion, I've unshared my old public repo. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we'll be staying here a while now! - P P.S. Anyone wiser than I in the ways of git, can you share any tricks for telling git that the origin has been relocated? Is it as easy as just changing the origin in the config file or are there more things to do?

Just curious if anybody knows what the current most popular aur wrappers and build utilities are. I know about yaourt, or however it is spelled. Anybody know of others? I am curious how they are currently getting the package info (they are scraping, but not sure what data they are fetching).

When I was at a differnet computer on friday, I made a bunch of changes to the styles and stuff. I just realized that .... I forgot to push those changes. doh! So my public repo does not currently reflect the screenshots I sent out in a semi-recent thread. I will resync and fixify my repo on monday when I get back on that box. go me!

I've created a git tree for the release trunk of the AUR: git://git.mattal.com/aur http://git.mattal.com/gitweb.cgi?p=aur.git;a=summary So far the current state of SVN is reflected there. Please clone away. This is a good starting point for future development. Branch plan: * testing - I will pull from all interested developers into here * master - x.y release tree; tested changes get merged into here * stable - x.y.z release tree; necessary changes only Once we have collectively tested things in my testing branch, I'll merge acceptable ones into the master. I will also pull from SVN directly into the master until (if ever) others stop using SVN. At the moment, I think the interested developer set includes Eliott, Loui, and Joerie, but others feel free to pipe up! Could you all clone and send me the pull and browse URLs for your clones? One more git fine point others may know more about than I: Can I pull from the existing AUR repos you all have started, even though they are not clones of mine? I think not, but wonder if there must be some way. I tried to do this but it seemed not to work, but I only tried a few things. Once I am comfortable enough with how everything is working with git, I'll consider hosting this repo on gerolde. However, that seems a formality anyway with git, since cloning replicates the entire repo-- everyone will have a copy of exactly what I have. - P
