Daemon running in background should let error output to be printed. Standart output is still hided to have a correct printing in default cases. This will help to detect error in daemon runned in background. This will also remove have_daemon call which is already called in start_daemon. Default to "/usr/local" which should be used if you want to build devtools from sources and install without using a package manager. Use `make PREFIX=/usr install` to install to "/usr" instead. Fix the `svn rm` invocation when releasing to a repository that already contains some files. `svn ls` only returns basenames, so we need to prepend the path here. Some refactoring and bug fixes to the version control checks in commitpkg. The last patch is probably the most important one. I forgot to copy the install script from another build location to the local SVN checkout a couple of times in the last few months and commitpkg never warned me about that. Hi Thomas, Your main concern with the shutdown hook, as far as I could tell, was that it was not clear how it could be extended. I put up a quick proof of concept here: <https://github.com/teg/mkinitcpio/commit/909fcb7793e072cf0091a232ff4d8cb535…>, of what I had in mind (will not work, completely untested, just to give an idea, etc.). The idea would be to add a hook which did "vgchange -a n" for lvn, and similarly for mdadm etc. The hooks will then be tried repeatedly until they have all succeeded. As an example I put the unmount hook. I didn't think it would be worth adding support for generic hooks until it was clear that this was the direction we were going in, that's why it was not there in the initial version. I rebased the other patches based on your comments, but I'll give them a test before asking you to pull. Cheers, Tom
