This is bound to be problematic in certain setups, especially if/when udev is included and differs in version from the real root. Hi! I'm flooding your mailboxes again. There's been some changes, so I'm resubmitting the stuff I'm happy with (and need to stop refactoring). The latest is always available on github, but I'll do my best to keep these 12 frozen unless I find a showstopper. Major patches to note are: 2/12: deprecates install, changes every install hook to have a 'build' function instead. 8/12: kills gen_init_cpio. it's a bit of a scary large patch. 12/12: allows specifying a kernel as a path, e.g. /boot/vmlinuz26. This one is, imo, important to have before linux 3.0 is released. Patches 5 and 9 are refactors of some of the install hook API which yield some tasty speedups beyond what patch 8 offers. The rest is assorted cleanup and bashification. Hi, I just encoutered the problem that my system couldn't boot because the devices changed and the encrypt hook couldn't decrypt my system. Because UUIDs are more reliable in such cases I added a new syntax to the hook. if you set cryptdevice=UUID=<UUID>:root UUID will be used to get the real device using "blkid -U". Hello, I have uploaded a premilinary netcfg package including the latest changes. It does not correspond to a particular tag in the Git repository (it's commit 1f5183b8). http://dev.archlinux.org/~remy/netcfg/netcfg-2.5.90-1-any.pkg.tar.xz I plan to produce version 2.6 after some polishing has been made. * I can test static configuration * I can test IPv4 wireless * I remember wireless IPv6 worked previously, maybe due to autoconfiguration. I don't know if there are real people out in the world using DHCP for IPv6. net-tools is now an optional dependency. It's only necessary if you want to use the IFCFG option. Changes: version 2.6 - add support for IPv6 configuration (FS#18699) - add support for static routes configuration (FS#18700) - add support for creating tun/tap interfaces (FS#15049) - wireless: add support for explicit BSSID (FS#24582) - wireless: add support for ad-hoc connections (FS#19683) - use /run instead of /var/run - drops dependency on net-tools package Regards, Rémy.
