Hi all I am delighted to announce that there is new (complete) mirror for Colombia (and the first, by the way) http://www.soliun.unal.edu.co/repos/archlinux/ for file /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist # Colombia Server = http://www.soliun.unal.edu.co/repos/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch can this be included in file mirrorlist? hi I am doing mirror for Arclinux and I want that it is official mirror, I used script of http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Local_Mirror and start synchronize with distro.ibiblio.org, but this server are not update with last packages update of official page, I want synchronize with other mirror such as those listed on page http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:NewMirrors but not work, I dont know to put in SYNC_SERVER for example, with SYNC_SERVER=rsync://rsync.las.ic.unicamp.br/pub/archlinux/ show: rsync: failed to connect to rsync.las.ic.unicamp.br: Connection refused (111) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [Receiver=3.0.7] help thanks -- Xavier Corredor Llano Bogotá - Colombia

[arch-mirrors] lastsync file in ftp root

Hello mirror admins, we have put a file called lastsync into our root dir to be able to check whether a mirror is up to date compared to our master server; even if its part of a mirror chain. Some mirrors have overwritten this file by their own. Therefore I ask you to check you script and if it creates such a file, either remove it or perpend a . which should not interfere with any of our files. (Due to this the mirror status pages at https://www.archlinux.de/?page=MirrorStatus and https://www.archlinux.de/?page=MirrorProblems) might show wrong data. So, don't worry if it shows that your mirror hasn't synced for 40 years. (My script didn't expect anything else than a timestamp in that file) If you have a lastsync file which does not contain a timestamp (error log at status page show something like "invalid lastsync time: 2010-08-04 05:22:08-04:00" but your script does not create such a file you most likely inherited this from your upstream mirror. Hi, Sorry for the late reply. I am currently away from IIT Kanpur and was not able to make the necessary changes. We maintain the arch linux mirror at mirror.cse.iitk.ac.in. We will now be syncing from one of the Trier 1 mirrors. I have send a mail to one of the admins rsync://rsync.gtlib.gatech.edu/archlinux/" I will start the cronjob once I get a go-ahead from them. By the way I noticed in the mirror listing at http://www.archlinux.de/?page=MirrorStatus that our http mirrors response time is of the order of 6 seconds whereas our ftp server seems to be doing much better. (0.52). I noticed that some mirrors have comparable response time for both http and ftp and in some cases the situation is reverse. Am I reading too much into these figures or is there some special reason for this? Regards ppk
