Hi all, aif 2009.04.08 is now available in extra (and soon on your favorite mirror). changes since 2009.01.02 ( = alpha version on arch 2009.02 release) - automatic procedure: a quickinst replacement and much more. - date/time refactoring (no more tzdata, support for ntpdate, logic should be better (but may not be bugfree) - updated docs - FHS compliant - better configure system menu ( also auto population of keyboard/font settings, hostname in /etc/hosts) - various fixes and improvements. see git log/bugtracker/... known bugs? This code is to try and easily add groups and users during the installation process. It uses the standard commands 'groupadd' and 'useradd'. Would there be any way for AIF to be able to allow the user to select partitions, and then everything else be automatic? IE, the user selects the partitions (and layout) they want, then it uses a profile to fill in the rest (like autodetecting the configuration) and install. Smartboy

Hi all, while trying to figure out http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/13835 I noticed something weird. When I run something like "dialog --no-kill --tailboxbg /var/log/dmesg.log 0 0" on my pc (or in a VM) in a shell, 2 dialog processes start (this should be normal. it forks itself in the background), and I get my shell prompt back. when new things are written to the log file, they show up, but since i'm back at the prompt this looks ugly. Hi all, I think the date/time refactoring should now be done. 1) dialogs for all (or cli if you prefer that). no tzdata anymore. 2) correct (i hope?) behaviour. note the usages of the dohwclock functions and general flow If you want to look at the code, see functions interactive_timezone and interactive_time @ http://projects.archlinux.org/?p=aif.git;a=blob;f=src/core/libs/lib-ui-inte… Like usual, you can play with this by pulling the latest code from the experimental branch (github or archlinux.org) PS: the list @ http://bugs.archlinux.org/index/proj6?do=index&tasks=&project=6&due=59&orde… has been/is shrinking..
