Hi, I just put exiv2 0.21.1 in staging repo along the packages that needed to be rebuilt according to their depends and the result of running lddd on my system. Could someone (Allan or Pierre ?) run the soname script (which should be added to devtools) to see if I missed any? The soname change is: /usr/lib/libexiv2.so.9 -> /usr/lib/libexiv2.so.10 Here's the list of packages which I have rebuilt: darktable exiv2 geeqie gimp-ufraw (did also an upstream update) gthumb hugin (did also an upstream update) kdebase-runtime krename (did also an upstream update) libgexiv2 (did also an upstream update) luminancehdr rawstudio strigi

[arch-dev-public] [namcap] overhaul dependency detection

Hello all, I have updated my personal git repo for namcap http://projects.archlinux.org/users/remy/namcap.git/ with changes to the dependency detection : dependency information is now collected by the concerned rules (depends now split in sodepends and shebangdepends, hicoloricontheme, mimeinfo), and analyzed afterwards in a global setting. The kdeprograms rule is not yet fixed (it should apply even if kdelibs is an indirect dependency). If you have time to test this branch, please tell how it is improved or damaged by my changes. I remind you that namcap runs with Python 3 now. Rémy.

Hi, The util-linux-ng project has been renamed back to util-linux. Release highlights ------------------ lsblk(8): - this NEW COMMAND lists information about all or selected block devices in tree-like format. partx(8): - this command has been rewritten to use libblkid for partition tables parsing. It supports aix, bsd, dos, gpt, mac, minix, sgi, solaris_x86, sun, ultrix and unixware now. - supports new command line option "--show" to list partitions in new format - prints UUID and name for GPT and mac partitions findmnt(8): - supports new command line option "--submounts" to list all submounts for selected mountpoint(s) agetty(8): - supports new command line options "-c" and "-s" to reuse already initialized tty cflags and existing baud rate mount(8), umount(8): - could be linked with libmount (--enable-libmount-mount) to manage userspace mount options outside /etc/mtab on systems where the file is a symlink to /proc/mounts. (EXPERIMENTAL) losetup(8), mount(8): - uses /sys/dev/block/<device>/loop/backing_file rather than loopdev ioctls (requires kernel >= 2.6.37) fsck(8): - supports new command line option "-l" to lock whole-disk device by exclusive flock(2). I've updated soprano in trunk to make it build against the new versions in staging. It compiles but I'm not sure if it works. Can a kde maintainer please test the soprano rebuild with locally installed packages raptor1/raptor/rasqal/raptor from staging? They way I've got soprano built looses a backend. Version 3.2 of python is now available (formal announcement on the python.org frontpage should be published in the next hours). Thankfully this rebuild will be a much smaller than the recent one for 2.7.1. It is a fairly small rebuild with 9 pkgs from [extra] and 18 from [community]. I am ready to upload the new package into staging so rebuilds can start after. I tested [extra] package rebuild with the "rc" releases and Fedora ran their development tree with python 3.2rc{1,2,3} for several weeks, so I do not expect problems with the final release. If there is no objection, I will start the rebuild into staging tomorrow morning. Important changes are listed here : http://docs.python.org/dev/whatsnew/3.2.html There is a new bytecode format and the layout of how Python stores cached bytecode has changed somewhat. The full details can be seen at: http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-3147/ To summarize, where before we had: foo/__init__.py foo/__init__.pyc foo/__init__.pyo foo/bar.py foo/bar.pyo foo/bar.pyo foo/foo.py foo/foo.pyc foo/foo.pyo with Python 3.2 we now have a __pycache__ directory: foo/__init__.py foo/bar.py foo/foo.py foo/__pycache__/ foo/__pycache__/__init__.cpython-32.pyc foo/__pycache__/__init__.cpython-32.pyo foo/__pycache__/foo.cpython-32.pyc foo/__pycache__/foo.cpython-32.pyo foo/__pycache__/bar.cpython-32.pyc foo/__pycache__/bar.cpython-32.pyo The 32 in the above filenames refers explicitely to the python version, not the architecture. When rebuilding, we will need to make sure that rebuilded packages contains directories like foo/__pycache__ to capture the directory and the bytecode files within. As the .pyo files are architecture independent. Hi, implemented FS#21391. is needed because > consolekit 0.4.2 changed the default policy and expects that a third party to authorize the user. That works out of the box with graphically login managers as GDM/KDM/LXDM. Note that ck-launch-session hack is still needed in ~/.xinitrc.
