Can we kill gcc3 and gcc34 from extra? We used to need them for qemu, but that's fixed, so they're useless. Objections?

[arch-dev-public] move libelf to extra?

I just wanted to bump libelf. I found that no package in core depends on it anymore. Website says: Required By: * archboot * bug-buddy * ddd * ltrace * prelink Should we keep libelf for a certain reason in core or should I move it to extra? -Andy

new upstream version. removed the texinfo dep. please signoff. -Andy Changes in version 1.3: An aliasing related segfault that only occurs when overoptimizing with GCC on some architectures (alpha, sparc) has been (hopefully) fixed.

Hi guys, our current nfs-utils don't support nfs4, Based on nfs-utils from AUR we could support nfs4 rather easily. [arch-dev-public] Remove tuxracer from [extra]

Hi, Tuxracer has been dead since 2001 and all its levels are included in the currently developed fork extremetuxracer which is in [community]. I have had a bug reported against it (FS#15003) and expect to never find a solution given most distros have moved on to the fork. Any objects to moving it to the AUR? Allan

Hi, I would like to remove fam from [extra]. It is old, uses dnotify rather than the better inotify and does not build without lots of patches. It seems the patches we do use create Arch specific issues with log file filling (FS#14623). Finally, gamin does most of the job fam does but better and it is currently in the [community] repo. Any objections? Also, should I bring gamin to [extra] as a replacement or leave it in [community]? I really do not care which.... Allan

Hi ML, only let you know the repository kde-unstable is again active. I packaged with Pierre KDE 4.3 beta2; at the moment packages are more big then previous because we enabled the DEBUG build option, but we will disable it soon: there are few vantages and many disadvantages to keep it. Pierre talked with Allan who said that pacman 3.3 will be out soon, so we are working to split KDE packages. Will be nice to have splitted packages in time to the new KDE release. [arch-dev-public] dbscripts [PATCH] compute compression option from file extension

Hi, as I noticed in the xz-utils signoff thread my assumption that bsdtar is able to detect the wanted compression type on its own was wrong. So here is a small patch to correct this in our db-scripts. My other patches should not be affected.
