Hi, gpm 1.20.6-1 is in testing for both arches. please signoff. Changes: minor upstream update and added .install file to handle info file. Hey guys, We have some packages in core that do not have gzipped man pages (at least one is my fault, heh). If everyone could take a few seconds and ensure you have "zipman" set in your makepkg.conf OPTIONS array, that would be great. OPTIONS=(strip docs libtool emptydirs zipman) note that these are global, and !libtool and !emptydirs should be specified at the package level

I just noticed by accident that our release announcement made it to heise open. This is the first time that Arch has been mentioned on heise at all, so I am a bit psyched. Anyway, for those who know German, read here: http://www.heise.de/open/Arch-Linux-2009-02--/news/meldung/132693 It's not much more than a translation of the release announcement, but should still attract some more German users. I'd like to use this thread to collect more press coverage of our release, so if you see anything, post it here (or reply on arch-general).

Hi all, Im trying to update tellico and im having a strange problem. When i do this command: [douglas@ingravitto ~]$ /opt/kde/bin/kde-config --prefix /opt/kde It works ok =) But inside the PKGBUILD, Fakeroot - it returns empty. I have been trying a lot of things but none of then worked. Thanks a lot

So I just got a bug report with a little comment at the bottom saying "shouldn't you be able to report 2009.02 as the version now?" I want to remove the versions from the ArchLinux project because it's totally irrelevant. Any issue with that? The Release Engineering project has release versions

I'm the current maintainer of man and man-pages packages. But this affects also all other packages that install any kind of man-pages: We have serious issues and some errors reported that are related to the man package. The current man package has problems with character encoding: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/7477 http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/9130 and probably with deeper links: http://www.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2009-February/010257.html http://www.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2009-January/010056.html Is there anybody who wants to take over the maintainance for all man related stuff? If not I'll do whatever we are going to decide but with relative low priority. For the encoding: Fedora does a recoding in almost every spec file. We could this this similar with a big afford and everybody would have to take care about it or don't care about it at all. man-db as a man replacement promises to solve this. http://www.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2008-December/009570.html and http://www.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2008-December/009581.html I'm almost for changing to man-db. We would just have to decide how to update the db. How is this currently done for "man"? In pacman? Could this be easily changed/added for man-db?
