Hi, I when I make a copy of a large file to a 2GB or 8GB usb 3.0 external hard drive, I notice that arch remains slow, frozen ... He struggles to open windows are minimized. I have the kernel: 3.12.2-1-ARCH Update the whole system to the last. Can you think because it can be? I also went from the 3.11 kernel However, debian, ubuntu, opensuse me not pass this ... It's happened to someone else? Thanks for everything.

Hi, I'm spanish. I love archlinux. I used debian, opensuse, ubuntu, fedora, linux mint, fuduntu, gentoo and I like arch above all. I will install kvm in arch. I follow this guide: http://blog.desdelinux.net/instalar-y-configurar-qemu-kvm-en-arch-linux/ I have installed vmware workstation and virtualbox and works very well. [arch-general] dpms in text mode worked 1st boot, now monitor blanks but won't power off

Guys, On my 1st boot after install of a new Arch box, the monitor would go to sleep in text mode. (monitor power light goes to yellow indicating sleep and screen goes black (off), not just blank) I thought that was a great trick, since normally, the screen just blanks, but the monitor doesn't really go to sleep (monitor power indicator on). Mouse movement (gpm) or key stroke would wake the monitor up as expected. After configuring the box (nothing related to display) on the next boot, the screen will blank, but not go to sleep (monitor power light remains on and screen goes blank, but not black (off)) I can't figure out what I could have done to alter anything related to the display. (configuration was to mysql, httpd, named, dhcpd, samba, etc....) What controls whether display powers off in text mode and what can I check for in journalctl to help figure this out? -- David C. The .install file for the package is wrong, making the font unusable by applications that look on X fontpath. A bug has been opened since 26 May 2013 with more info and a proposed fix. https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/35479 I also sent an email to the maintainer and last packager on November 9th, but no reply yet. I'm writing here so maybe more developers see it.

Hi all, This following is an example of a thumbnail generated on a forum I help run. This image: http://i.imgur.com/XxaSVKa.png - Works in Firefox 25.0.1 on Windows 7 - Works in Chrome 31.0.1650.57 m on Windows 7 - Works in IE 10 on Win 7 - Works in the Win 7 photo viewer - Works in Firefox for Android - Works in Chrome for Android - Broken in Firefox 25.0.1 on Arch - Broken in Chromium 31.0.1650.57 on Arch - Broken when trying to load it into gpicview, The GIMP etc on Arch. >From what I can tell from here: https://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-release/file/d20d499b219f/media/lib… Firefox 25.0.1 for Windows appears to be built statically against libpng 1.5.17. Any advice on where to report this, or what the best course of action is? If any of the devs have reported bugs to the libpng guys before, then I'd appreciate some help. Salutations, I was looking through my dmesg log and found a strange error: pool[2129]: segfault at 8 ip 00007fbddb60b1b5 sp 00007fbd87ffec40 error 4 in libglib-2.0.so.0.3800.2[7fbddb5a8000+fe000] My Arch Linux (64 bit) still starts up and runs fine.
