[aur-general] "qxmpp" package is obsolete

Hi, A month ago, I added a comment and then emailed /csgeek/, the maintainer of "qxmpp" AUR package, in order to keep the package up-to-date. Unfortunately, I didn't get any answer, and his package is stuck at version 0.3, whereas the latest upstream version is 0.5. Can someone declare "qxmpp" package as orphaned ? Thanks !

[aur-general] KDE Package Guidelines (aka AUR plasmoids mess)

Hi all, I just received a mail where the user ask me to rename a plasmoid package in AUR. He suggests to rename it as kdeplasma-addons-applets-$plasmoidname, but this is obviously wrong as kdeplasma-addons is the name of the *official* KDE package. If we would rename all our packages in that way, will be really difficult, for both users and maintainer, to understand if we are talking about an official kde plasmoid or not. So, I thought about two naming conventions: * kdeplasma-applets-$plasmoidname * plasma-applets-$plasmoidname Sincerely, I prefer the first one as all kde packages start with the kde prefix. I also wrote a simple KDE package guidelines page[1] taking this opportunity. Any suggestion is much appreciated. [aur-general] Delete cx_oracle package

Hi. How do I remove cx_oracle package? I've been maintaining it for some time and now have created 2 new ones to conform to Arch policy: python-cx_oracle and python2-cx_oracle as was suggested by another cx_oracle user. Original author of cx_oracle said he doesn't have permissions to delete the package and I should ask AUR admin. So I'm asking :) Thanks.

In anticipation of the final /lib move please remove [1] because it doesn't build anymore with recent kernels and soon the module will be installed to the wrong place. If possible merge the votes into [2] as it includes code fixes to build cleanly on recent kernels and a few more supported pid:vid combinations. Hi, I'm running current Arch 64-bit and I'm trying to install the AfterShot Pro [0] using aftershotpro 1.0.1.10-1 [1] First obstacle is this: $ makepkg -s ==> Making package: aftershotpro 1.0.1.10-1 (Thu Jul 12 20:42:48 BST 2012) ==> Checking runtime dependencies... ==> Installing missing dependencies... error: target not found: lib32-libpng12 ==> ERROR: 'pacman' failed to install missing dependencies. The Dependencies section on the package page [1] does not list lib32-libpng12 but libpng12 only. So, searching for lib32-libpng12 [2], but attempt to install it results in this: $ makepkg -s ==> Making package: lib32-libpng12 1.2.49-1 (Thu Jul 12 20:45:54 BST 2012) ==> Checking runtime dependencies... ==> Checking buildtime dependencies... ==> Installing missing dependencies... resolving dependencies... looking for inter-conflicts... :: gcc-libs-multilib and gcc-libs are in conflict. Remove gcc-libs? [y/N] error: unresolvable package conflicts detected error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies) :: gcc-libs-multilib and gcc-libs are in conflict ==> ERROR: 'pacman' failed to install missing dependencies. Does anyone know how to get around it? The package aftershotpro 1.0.1.10-1 is 32-bit installs 32-bit version of the software from AfterShotPro_i386.rpm, but there is package for Linux Debian (64-bit) available [3]. I wonder if the maintainer could update the package using the 64-bit deb.
