[arch-dev-public] About to drop bacula

I'm going to be dropping bacula to AUR soon as I don't use it and I keep bug reports on it. I don't currently have a working bacula set up so it might be better off in someone else's hands. I'll give it a few days before dropping it in case another TU wants to take over.

Python-reportlab will be renamed to python2-reportlab so all dependencies should fix their depend=(). These packages are affected: -gourmet -griffith -ocrfeeder -python2-rst2pdf -uniconvertor

[arch-dev-public] consolekit dependencies?

Most (all?) of our login manager still depend on consolekit. However, since consolekit support will be stripped from polkit when gnome-unstable goes to testing (soon?), registering consolekit sessions on login has no effect whatsoever. Should we rebuild our login managers to remove the consolekit dependencies? I rebuilt kdebase-workspace locally yesterday, and polkit seems to work just fine. kde itself does not use consolekit, except through polkit.

With systemd being the default, we have no simple network management besides dhcp by default. Should we add netcfg to the base group so it is installed by default?

[arch-dev-public] [announcement draft] systemd is now the default on new installations

Once initscripts, sysvinit and systemd move out of testing, new installations will install systemd-sysvcompat by default and thus will boot with systemd unless the user changes this. It's time for an announcement: "The base group now contains the systemd-sysvcompat package. This means that all new installations will boot with systemd by default. This change does not affect existing installations. For the time being, the initscripts and sysvinit packages remain available from our repositories."
