Hey everyone! It's that time again for arch to get the latest ghc! GHC 7.6.1 comes with a bunch of new and exciting features: http://www.haskell.org/ghc/docs/7.6.1/html/users_guide/release-7-6-1.html It took just over a month to do the full rebuild because of the amount of patching and coordination with upstream we had to do. Tom and I discussed this on IRC, so I'll just throw it in here. I'd like to make the following changes to our packages: * Remove initscripts and sysvinit from the base group. * Add systemd-sysvcompat to the base group. * Move initscripts to [extra]. This effectively uses systemd by default on all new installations. As not all packages are equipped with systemd units yet, a compatibility layer exists: You can install the initscripts package, which does not depend on sysvinit any longer (and thus doesn't conflict with systemd-syscompat). A new initscripts installation will come with an empty DAEMONS array by default. Once you add rc.d scripts to DAEMONS, systemd will generate compatibility units for those services, or enable the systemd unit if a unit with the same name exists. Please discuss!

Hi guys, Thanks to everyone who converted their packages to use native systemd service files since my last email. There are stil 66 packages remaining in our TODO however (10 from extra and the rest from community): https://www.archlinux.org/todo/178/. It would be great if we can get the last few packages sorted so nothing is left out when systemd moves to base. It might be that some packages are pseudo-orphans (i.e., officially maintained, but not in practice), so those packages we should probably drop if no one adopts them. If you (for whatever reason) don't think you will be converting your packages in the near future, please let us know so we know which packages to focus on when we help out with the conversion. In particular those of you who have not converted any (or only a small percentage) of your packages [0], it would be helpful to know your intentions.
