The i686 [community] database on gerolde is currently a copy of the x86_64 database. It is correct on sigurd. Yay for the "Architecture" option in pacman.conf that caused many people to notice this! Did someone adjust the rsync job recently? It is just the database that is affected. All the package (symlinks) are still for the i686 version. Allan

[arch-dev-public] Enforcing trusted signatures on all package uploads

Hi, I think it is about time that we started enforcing that all package uploads are signed by a trusted signature. With the way our web-of-trust works, that means anybody without their keys signed by at least three of the Arch Linux Master Keys will no longer be able to upload packages. All master keys holders have been available for key signing for over a month (some nearer to two months...) so there has been plenty of opportunity to have this done. Enforcing all signatures are trusted means anyone using signature checking in pacman only needs to import and trust the master keys. I see Pierre has already committed the needed change to dbscripts, they just need enabled. Is there anything stopping this happening? [arch-dev-public] java-7-openjdk has been splitted

To satisfy server admins not forcing them install lots of typical desktop deps (FS#27621) I've reworked our (openjdk7) JRE pkg and now it's splitted into jre7-opnjdk-headless and an addon jre7-openjdk desktop package. (I've followed Debian here, they do a good job here). I expect some people crying again "hell no, no more splitting..." but who cares. I have to satisfy the KISS people and also those that want it slack and without useless crap on their disc. Packages are in testing. Please test them well. The packages are meant to prepare the 7u2 Icedtea update expected within the next few weeks. The update path should be smooth. Everything should work after an -Syu and if you don't need the desktop stuff feel free to -R jre7-openjdk. -Andy

Hi, I think everybody knows that WindowMaker development was stalled since ages. It started again with the windowmaker-crm git repository. Now windowmaker-crm is the most up-to-date source and is considered as the official release. (Stated on the new website: http://windowmaker.org/) Debian has now accepted the wmaker-crm 0.95.0 tag (http://repo.or.cz/w/wmaker-crm.git/tree/d0a48d991490f3092e41b3f5e541913c0fd…) to be included into Debian unstable. Personally I would like to update our windowmaker (stable 0.92.0) package to the mentioned git tag (0.95.0). Our windowmaker-crm-git package will be updated to the latest development git snapshot as before. Any objections for this step? Daniel
