[arch-dev-public] confirm LTS kernel / usb printer permission issues

I have a permission issue when using the kernel26-lts with my usb printer. The device doesn't always get "lp" group. Especially when I switch it off and on again. Then new cups 1.4.x can't find the printer. With kernel 2.6.30 and 2.6.31 the group is always set well. I already asked a few udev upstream devs without a solution so far. See http://www.spinics.net/lists/hotplug/msg02798.html It would be nice if some of you could try confirming my problem and maybe you can help me to find the reason why it fails on my server. I'm heading down to Missouri (MISSOUR-AH!) for some hiking and camping this weekend before it gets too cold. I'm leaving tonight and will be away from computers and stuff like that. I will be back Sunday night. If anything bad happens, just panic :)

Another upstream release, I want to move directly after signoff. Last minute changes: - Changed number of maximum serial ports to 32 - Enabled ATI KMS (if this causes problems, blame Andy, he says it's fine :D) Working fine on x86_64, i686 will be ready soon.

Hi, coreutils-8.0 has been released but flagged beta because of some fairly large changes in rm which now uses gnulib's hierarchy traversal (= faster) and many changes to gnulib in the area of filesystem primitives. I found the snapshot before this fully usable, and will do a "make check/test" to ensure everything is working as it should. I would like to put it in [testing] _without_ the option of it every moving to [core]. I know we do this for some software, but never anything so "core" to the system that I know of. So... can I use [testing] for testing in this case? Allan
