[arch-dev-public] Get notified on website updates

Hello, maybe you are familar with the following problem: You want to get notified when there is a new upstream release. The problem is that not all projects offer rss feeds or an announce mailing list. And if they do they are sometimes too verbose or don't cover the updates you like. So needed something to watch a certain website and tell me if anything changed. There are a lot of webservices, firefox plugins etc..; but they are all too complicated and just don't offer what I need. So I though it would be quite easy to write something myself using cron and lynx. So I after a few minutes I had a simple Bash script whih just does the job. It loops through an url list and prints the diff to the previous run. Running this by cron I get an email including the diff everytime one of the observed websites are updated. Maybe someone else has some use for it, too. Going into testing in a few minutes: mkinitcpio changes: - Finally fix a bug where required HID modules were missing - Add a new COMPRESSION option that accepts gzip, lzma and bzip2 parameters (gzip is the default, the others are only supported on 2.6.30 and later) - Add a new poll_device function that waits for a block device to appear. This is used in the init function and the resume hook, with rootdelay as a maximum timeout (default to 10 seconds) - Remove the unmaintained and untested modload hook - Remove the runtime filesystems hook - Rework the code that checks whether a root device has been found, don't reboot when exiting the emergency shell, but try to continue. - Due to the new poll_device behaviour, the usb and fw runtime hooks are no longer required, remove them - Parse arguments to init properly, using the "$@" parameter from the commandline the kernel generated - also needs the new fix in the latest kinit from testing (this allows us to use init=/bin/sh again) - Adjust for the latest filesystem/module-init-tools changes - Fix an autodetection bug that would sometimes omit some filesystems cryptsetup changes: - Use poll_device when waiting for the encrypted device and the (optional) key container device (default to rootdelay), added conflicts=(mkinitcpio<0.5.25) - Add a warning if the deprecated root= syntax is used on the commandline

Can we kill gcc3 and gcc34 from extra? We used to need them for qemu, but that's fixed, so they're useless. Objections?

I just wanted to bump libelf. I found that no package in core depends on it anymore. Website says: Required By: * archboot * bug-buddy * ddd * ltrace * prelink Should we keep libelf for a certain reason in core or should I move it to extra? -Andy

new upstream version. removed the texinfo dep. please signoff. -Andy Changes in version 1.3: An aliasing related segfault that only occurs when overoptimizing with GCC on some architectures (alpha, sparc) has been (hopefully) fixed.

Hi guys, our current nfs-utils don't support nfs4, Based on nfs-utils from AUR we could support nfs4 rather easily.
