[arch-general] MariaDB package version

I recently noticed Arch Linux's mariadb package is still on the 10.1 release series, even though upstream has considered the 10.2 and 10.3 release series to be "stable" for at least 4 months. Arch is usually so good about keeping everything up-to-date, so I am curious what the reason for this is. Something to do with compatibility? Thanks, ~ Kevin Dodd

I know such request was rejected here https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/59733 recently, but still AppArmor doesn't need linking with libraries and doesn't require as much userland support as SELinux, so it will not hurt to have one option enabled in kernel, right?

[arch-general] Owncloud client compatibility with Nextcloud server

Hi people! Today I updated my owncloud-client package to latest version (2.5.0.10650-1) and now I have the following message: "The server version 14.0.0-Nexcloud is unsupported! Proceed at your own risk." Seems that the owncloud-client only will have support to owncloud-server. Since in Archlinux the owncloud-server was replaced by nextcloud-server, maybe is time to drop owncloud-client and replace with nextcloud-client? What do you think? All, After recent updates, hylafax/sendfax fails with the error: sendfax: 460 Failed to submit job 110: Unable to open scheduler FIFO: No such device or address. it had been working find up until the last week or two. Reverting to the LTS kernel resolves the issue. There are no obvious errors in the journal. Does anyone know why sendfax would begin failing with "Unable to open scheduler FIFO: No such device or address." with the current kernel, but work fine on LTS? (I have confirmed this behavior on two separate Arch servers) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

Good afternoon, my log is flooded with these messages: Sep 26 09:09:45 defiant kernel: rtl8192se: switch case 0x5e not processed Sep 26 09:09:54 defiant kernel: rtlwifi: AP off, try to reconnect now Approx everey 10 sec there's a new entry. My wifi connection is quite buggy even when close to the router, so am not sure if that might be a reason. My favourite search engine came up with some links suggesting that these module options will help: options rtl8192se fwlps=0 ips=0 swlps=0 swenc=1 However, I do not see any difference with them. any ideas how to get around this? Hi folks, Firstly, i am not a digitalocean affiliated, but i use their services. A long time ago, Arch Linux was one the supported OSes, latter they dropped this support. Now, although it is not officially supported again they just launched the ability to upload Custom Images into DigitalOcean. [arch-general] vsftpd only works without seccomp

Hi, I've been using vsftpd successfully with implicit SSL several months ago. Now I wanted to use it again (same config file), but it didn't work, clients reported SSL errors. Adding `seccomp_sandbox=NO` to my /etc/vsftpd.conf fixes the error. But I don't want to disable seccomp sandboxing. Any ideas? Regards, L. Rose

Archdevs, Is this a new bug or config issue? Beginning 9/15, I receive a new cron error: error: stat of /var/log/clamav/clamd.log failed: No such file or directory But the file is there: $ l /var/log/clamav/clamd.log -rw-r--r-- 1 clamav clamav 0 Aug 30 2015 /var/log/clamav/clamd.log The wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ClamAV doesn't mention the issue, so is this a bug? [arch-general] Firefox crashes randomly

Hello! I have problem with randomly crashing Firefox 62.0 or single tabs in this browser on 64-bit Arch Linux system. Running Firefox in safe mode doesn't help. Resetting browser or removing folder ~/.mozilla still doesn't help. Any ideas how to fix this issue? -- Cheers, Hubert Hauser.
