I use dolphin, and when I right click on a folder, I can execute a command "Open Terminal Here" through the popup menu. My question is Can I do so when I right click the blank area of dolphin folder view?

I have wondered why that extension was in my browser, I think the problem began because I copied a profile from the system microsoft windows xp that I use occasionally. If it is an extension to your browser, whatever system, you are advised to disable it. there is some links to reports new. Guys, New strange error while I troubleshoot the dead X intel card issue. As mentioned, I have managed to get twm and openbox running in vncserver on the box with the intel card. kde4 apps will run, but look terrible due to the difference in color-depth, etc., so I was trying to get kde3/kate or kwrite running. I have always been able to run the kde3 apps from both twm and openbox before, but now I get the following error: /opt/kde/bin/kwrite: error while loading shared libraries: libqt-mt.so.3: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 same error with kate, and just about any other kde3 app. Any way to fix this? I like vim, but I admit, I am a bit quicker with multiple kate/kwrite windows at my disposal. I don't think this would be related to the X problem, but... could it be? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Guys, I'm obviously doing something wrong. [arch-general] enlightenment e-svn (e17) segfaults with standard setup, OK with minimalist (battery module)

Devs, I don't know if I should bug this since it is a svn package, but enlightenment (the e-svn package) segfaults and cannot recover if you choose the standard setup. It goes through the initial setup screens OK, but as soon as it tries to start, it segfaults and cannot be recovered. I deleted the ~/.e directory and re-ran setup a few times changing setup options and finally got it to load fine choosing the minimalist setup. I then went through the modules to see if I could find the one causing the problem. Sure enough, as soon as I attempted to load the battery module - WHAM segfault-unrecoverable. I know nothing about enlightenment as I had never event loaded it before a few days ago when troubleshooting the intel X crash issue, and then just e16. Tonight was my first time to load e17, so I don't know how much help I'll be troubleshooting the problem. But, before I did anything, I wanted to ask whether I should bug it, or just send this email since it was listed as a svn package (e-svn). Let me know... -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Hello, sorry that I have to annoy you again but you were always very helpful. I have a second Arch Linux install with GDM as login manager and Xfce as desktop environment. This installation is up-to-date. Since the version 2.28 of GDM or better GNOME was released, I noticed some little problems. I read the site about the GNOME 2.28 changes on wiki.archlinux.org and I now know how to configure the new GDM. But sometimes the login process from GDM to Xfce hangs forever and if I can login, it will take a much longer time now. These problems did not exist in the past. Can you help? Greetings Lars

Guys, This has puzzled me for a while now. If I need to do something on a remote host that is something more than what I want to do over ssh (something that requires 4-5 windows or apps or configuring the actual remote desktop) I use vncserver/vncviewer. If I need a kde4 app and the remote host is opensuse, then there is no problem at all running the app. If the remote host is arch, then I am kind of screwed because there is some setting causing kde4 (which I understand uses native 24bit color) to look terrible. The vncserver setting on both suse and arch are identical. Hello everyone the screen applications had stopped working on my computer, I am experimenting this only during X sessions, I have the theory that it might be because of the recent tty changes, but Im not sure exactly which were the changes so I cant really tell the only way I can make it run is giving it a name to the screen session, something like this: screen -S term anyone got similar behaviour? any ideas of how to fix this? Greetings all, I am wondering if anyone would be interested in working with me to create a repository containing the most commonly used Drupal modules, themes, and installation profiles. I feel like a major lacking of Drupal is that it does not have a good way for managing its packages. Drush is a start, but being able to set up and maintain sites with something like pacman would be so much more powerful and useful. I also know there are some major hosting companies such as slicehost which support Arch servers/VPS which might be pleased to have good package manangement for a major CMS. The packages might also help to enforce good file structure practices etc.. Let me know what you think or if you know anyone who might be interested in working on the project (also, if I should be posting this somewhere else). -David Campbell

Guys, I'm having a problem with openoffice calc. When I highlight a few cells or few rows and then change the background color, no color is shown on the monitor for the cells. Moving the input box up/down across the rows or cells that the background color was set on, the color indication in the toolbar correctly changes showing where the color has been set, but still no background color is displayed in the cells on-screen. Oddly, when I print the spreadsheet, the background color is correctly printed?? Hi, I'm having a problem with disk encryption using luks. I have my /home disk (on a separate disk 'sdb') encrypted using luks. I have this in /etc/cryptsetup home /dev/sdb1 ASK and this in /etc/fstab /dev/mapper/home /home ext4 defaults,user_xattr 0 1 Suddenly today, it won't accept the passphrase on boot. I'm sure that I'm entering it correctly. It took me 32 tries the first time and many more the second reboot after kernel 2.6.31.3 update. The annoying thing is that archlinux only takes three tries then fails and I have to reboot to try again. Any idea please? I'm 100% sure I'm entering the passphrase correctly. I don't have another operating system installed or anything and I go back to work in a few days so looking for a new distribution or operating system is not a favorable option. [arch-general] kernel 2.6.31-4, conky and hwmon issue

Hallo all. here is my problem: last week when kernel was upgraded to 2.6.31, it broke conky and hwmon on some of the machines. So i opened FS#16584 and it was resolved in an update of conky . However it broke conky and hwmon on another set of machines as reported in this thread http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=82231 But as latest reported by Beini in FS#16650, the updated hwmon patch should work on both set of machines. Which is evident as me and another member with similar configuration have reported success in the ongoing thread. But the other side has yet to report anything. So i think that is blocking the update of conky. So in this situation, i am asking for your information and feedback about this issue, if you happen to be one of the affected users.

Any idea where to find libasound_module_pcm_jack.so or how to compile alsa to get it? It's probably of no use to the majority of arch users but it's a module that has to be enabled by hand in asoundrc anyway, so I think it wouldn't hurt to make it available for those that find it useful. Philipp

I'm trying to get GRUB installed on a pure GPT disk (I didn't know it was best to make a hybrid MBR/GPT), and it looks like a patch was added back in March 2008 for this (http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/9864) but it continues to fail.
