*Perl 5.10 is now in core.* I have started my perl commit/upload orgy... Sergej, please upload perl-libxml, perl-libxml-common, perl-net-dbus and perl-xml-rss as priority, because until it is done, all pkgs that depend on them (I have some) will be non-functional! Since I have built them for both architectures anyway, I could take care of them, if you want. Best, F

[aur-general] Problems uploading i686 packages to community?

I am having trouble getting a package into i686 community. I have used communitypkg to upload teeworlds twice and it does not appear in AUR. The x86_64 version uploaded without a problem. Looking at the pkg_diff page (http://dev.archlinux.org/~andyrtr/pkg_diff.html) the last four packages are uploaded to x86_64 only, although from web cvs the latest versions all appear tagged for CURRENT. It could be a coincidence though... Am I missing something? Thanks, Allan

[aur-general] Why /etc/issue starts with invisible chars?

Hi, all I found this issue when I was trying Sysmonitor in the package screenlets because Sysmonitor can not show my distribution name correctly. At the beginning I thought that it was a bug of screenlets, however, when I dug into its source code, I realized that it could be a "bug" introduced by Archlinux because the /etc/issue starts with some invisible chars. Here's the hexdump of /etc/issue in Archlinux. I guess most of the applications just use the first line in /etc/issue as distribution name (so do screenlets). I think Archlinux should comply with "Rule of Least Surprise" on this issue. If the invisible chars are just for clearing screen, we can do that from the second line. lyman

Today, after updating lxsession and lxpanel, when I checked the CVS web interface, the time was 1 hour off. Something I checked in 5 mins ago was being shown as 65 mins ago. Something wrong with the server clock? -- Abhishek.

[aur-general] MythTV & Extras

Hi everrrrrrybooooooooody! (Hi Dr. Nick!) Is anyone out there in dev-land interested in MythTV setups? I've got a ton of MythTV packages I'm maintaining (plugins and themes) that are kind of legacy from my TU days, which I brought into community with a ton of votes and eventually came to Extra when I became a dev. I don't use Myth, and can't really test any of these packages - basically I'm looking for someone who's actually interested in Myth to take them on. Paul has said he's looking at dropping the actual MythTV package, so if anyone out there is interested, taking the whole set (Myth + Plugins + Themes) would probably be easiest, since they all kind of update in unison. I'm cc-ing this message to aur-general too, because if no dev is interested, then perhaps a TU would be keen on keeping them in community. They seem to be a decently popular set of packages, so I'd love it if someone could pick them up. Thanks! -- Travis
