Since the new java-common come to the repo Is now possible have multiple java, but this bring and open another issue, java naming scheme the guy in jre/jdk[1] and jre-devel and jdk-devel refuse to follow a convention non generic name and the other maintaining jre7/jdk7 [2] and jre7-oracle/jdk7-oracle that do the same [3] refuse to accept or merge jre7-oracle into jre7 for the same reason even if the jre-oracle was merged into jre, this is a chaos. Many packages doing the same in different verion having different name conventions and ALL arguin bein correct. There is need to a conventional standar name scheme or this will be worst, instead to be kiss this is sick. There is a name scheme or name convention to follow? To be clear, this program, for which I am trying to build my first AUR PKGBUILD (bear with me please, still learning) is NOT a python package or library. So perhaps a setup.py may not necessarily be needed or relevant in this case. (I could be wrong.) 1. The program is not "expanding/extending" the Python Language itself. In other words it is not installing TO or writing code FOR Python, but USING the language for an end user application. Again, it is a PROGRAM, not a "python package". 2. Both the CLI and GUI are programs and not libraries. Hi, My package rbspeex-git was deleted with no explination and no time to fix whatever errors may exist in the package. I was lead to believe that if errors were found in a package that the maintainer was to be given an alert of the problems and time to fix it. I know of at least 10 people who were asking for this package, and it's removal in such an unprofessional manner intrupts service for at least some of them. Just in case there are errors in the PKGBUILD, I'm attaching it for any advice on correcting it. I'm just kind of surprised that some of the people who review packages aren't familiar with proceedures, or just choose to ignore them. Hi, For some reason the Rockbox people use a modified speex format to generate the talk clips. As far as I know the standard speexenc program can not create .talk files. So, I tried modifying the existing rbutil-git package to just build the rbspeex package and it is broken. Unfortunately the existing rbutil-git package doesn't include the rbspeexenc and dec programs when it installs the utility. To satisfy nodejs dependency for my package, should I use npm inside build() function in my PKGBUILD (solution that I prefer and now I'm using), or should I create an AUR tarball for every dpendency, and add all those ones inside depends() array? The messages do not show up in the same thread and there is no link, just 'request #1234 accepted' and which TU has accepted it. However, I believe it should be pretty obvious which one you're dealing with, if a package is named just "jre" or "jdk" (isn't that the ultimate "KISS"?).
