Hey, I am new on the mailing-lists, but i try to behave! Well since i've upgraded to the next kernel, i am having some issues with modules, and since i wanted to try out the mailinglists, this seems to be the perfect opportunity for that. Since i've upgraded to 2.6.27 (testing repository) my pcspkr module is being loaded again, and i cant remove it (rmmod pcspkr) is the module-name differrent now? [arch-general] New udev (128-5) and Blacklisting Modules

Hello together, i recognized that the new udev package has a file framebuffer_blacklist in /etc/modprobe.d which blacklist the framebuffer modules. So my question is about what is the best way to blacklist modules: Is it rc.conf or should i create my own file under /etc/modprobe.d? For an example i print over the net and therefore i blacklist all modules for the parallel device in my rc.conf with "lp !parport !parport_p". Should i now better create a file /etc/modprobe.d/attilas_blacklist with this lines: # Comment: No need for the parallel device blacklist lp blacklist parport blacklist parport_p My next little question is that the point about Blacklisting in the file /usr/share/udev/readme-udev-arch.txt says that i can use MOD_BLACKLIST too but i have changed my rc.conf to use !modul because i think this way is depreceated? Sorry if i oversee some informations but i'm a little bit confused about what is for archlinux the best way in the future to blacklist modules. Last not least there is no question about that using !modul in the rc.conf works fine as before and there is no pressure for me to change it. Hello, Arch Community. I'm unable to contact the vi package maintainer (Tobias Kieslich) so I decided to write here. I have prepared an update for the vim package (see the attachment). Non-trivial changes in the PKGBUILD: - I was removed a stub for the 026ne patch, as it is no more needed; - the code indented to cut X-related stuff from the sample vimrc. It breaks the vimrc for the 7.2, so I just removed that code and provide own (manually fixed) version of vimrc. I hope my work can be useful for arch. [arch-general] Unable to build mplayer with dvdnav support

HI, im trying to build mplayer with dvdnav support but havnt managed yet. Now im stuck and cant get it to build

[arch-general] Inkscape pkg broken

Hello guys, The inkscape pkg has a shared dependency problem, it needs the gnutls and uses this symbolic link: "libgnutls.so.13". But the in the core repo there is a newest version of gnutls, lets have a look in /usr/lib and we found this: libgnutls.so.26 libgnutls.so.26.4.5 Please try to correct the package as soon as is possible, cuz this app is broken. From what I have read of the license, we are allowed to distribute them; however I know nothing about licenses! I have compiled these on my laptop and I get about 2.5MB down with these vs a flex of 900KB - 2.2MB with the b43 module. The ssb module conflicts with this driver, but you need it for b44 (which is the broadcom ethernet driver)! So when using this module you must decide if you want wireless or ethernet (if you use the b44 module, like I do)! I have attached a pkgbuild I started to work on. It is very poorly written, however it is a start, haha!
