Yeah, I guess I was getting a bit angsty, but now I want Paul to have my babies. That was a cool email. :D Speaking of inspiration, lately Arch has felt much more like a chore to me than before, like a second job that I'm obligated to work on but don't really feel like doing; I'd much rather do something with my wife, relax and play the Wii, or other things with the free time I do have around my paying job. I thought maybe it was the packaging grind that's gotten me down, and so I endeavored to take on the ABS code - a simple project, to be sure, but a change from the packaging. However, I haven't even done that much with ABS yet, and already it's become another chore on the list of chores to do, and hasn't really helped. Basically, I've lost the inspiration I once had to do work for Arch - I've lost the enjoyment I remember having back when I was first brought on, and I'm not sure why that's the case. I'd like to find it again. What inspires you guys to do what you do? What drives you to keep up the contributions and the crazy amount of time and effort you give to Arch? I couldn't even imagine doing the amount of work some of you do for the distro; it's amazing. What's your secret? Help me find the magic again, guys. ;)

Just curious on what the current status of all the perl stuff in testing is. It is holding up a bump of git for me in extra, which is currently at 1.5.3.7 there but upstream is now up to 1.5.4.2 (which is going to testing as I write this). What still needs to be done and/or tested before all this stuff can move? -Dan

$ ./cleanup.sh extra x86_64 DIRECTORY: /home/ftp/extra/os/x86_64 DELETEFILES: MISSINGFILES: mysql-5.0.51-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz The package on the ftp for mysql is 5.0.51-2, but the package database claims the most recent version is 5.0.51-1. It's fine on i686. What went wrong, how can it be fixed? Whoever packaged it, please respond.

I was under the impression tpowa wanted these (filesystem and initscripts packages) out quickly so that we could release a new ISO. However, this appears to not be the case. tpowa could you please keep us informed of the release timeline you have? No one is really sure when the next ISO is going to crop up right now, so I'm sure no one cared enough to even glance at the packages I tried to get out before I flew out of town. If this was not pertinent, I would have waited to build them until I got home and saved myself the headache. When are you planning on building the next ISO?

In addition to the signoff can someone please build for i686 (power supply is dead on the i686 box, :frown:) Changes: Backup /etc/issue Version bump to 2008.02 for new ISOs Put removable media dirs in /media by default Remove /usr/X11R6/lib from default ld.so.conf

Haven't seen any mention of this yet, and the projects application deadline is in three days. I'd be happy to send it in, but it might be better coming from someone who did it on previous occasions. I also can't say if I'll be there - I'd like to go, but it's too early to say one way or the other. T.

[arch-dev-public] Adding tiacx wifi driver to core repo

As per FS#9057, I'd like to move the tiacx driver to core, to add to our current collection of wifi drivers. Any objections? T. P.S. The mac80211 version doesn't build against 2.6.24, so it would be the legacy version for now.
