Hi, after upgrading, including the switch from /lib to /usr/lib virtualbox still is ok for kernel 3.4.6-1-ARCH, but when I try to build the modules for kernel 3.4.4-rt13-2-rt the vboxbuild command doesn't exist. Until now nothing else seems to be borked. Hi, after upgrading to linux 3.5-1 yesterday my computer no longer boots. :( The following error is displayed: No volume groups found I have to run "lvm vgchange -a y" before I can continue booting. -- Herbert

[arch-general] pm-hibernate not working since update to 3.4.5-1-ARCH

Hello, I have already been used to not beeing able to suspend my MacBook Pro since the buggy nvidia version which came with 3.4.x kernel. But as of the latest updates which brought kernel 3.4.5-1 I am not able to use pm-hibernate anymore. When looking into /var/log/pm-suspend.log it seems that hibernating went well: lots of "success" messages and no errors. But when I then start the MacBook again it does not resume but boots normally. fsck detects that disks haven't been unmounted orderly, recovers journal and I am back to a fresh booted system then. I already looked up the wiki about pm-utils and found something about adding 'acpi_sleep=nonvs' in /boot/grub/menu.lst. Issues mentioned there with kernel versions around 2.6, which seems to be long time ago now. I tried it anyway, but with no effect at all. Any ideas what might be causing this issue? More fresh bugs in nvidia 302.17-3? [arch-general] rc.local.shutdown equivalent in systemd

Hello, I've decided to try systemd and see for myself. Anyway, I need to remove a module before shutdown, which rc.local.shutdown did nicely for me. I know there is an initscripts-systemd packages that would allow me to keep using rc.local.shutdown, but the wiki discourages its use and recommends instead using systemd native configuration files. Hence my question: what's the systemd native way to do stuff (in my case, remove a module) before shutdown? Thanks, Manolo --

Cups 1.6 will be shipped almost without any translation if things won't improve! If you want to help out don't hesitate. Call for help: http://www.cups.org/articles.php?L676 -Andy From the cups-dev list Michael Sweet: The localizations were hopelessly out-of-date. We've already received one updated translation that will get rolled into 1.6rc1, and are hoping for more. As always, localization of CUPS is a volunteer effort... ... Once we hit beta it is unusual for strings to change. The translation process is documented here: http://www.cups.org/documentation.php/doc-1.6/translation.html As for schedule, the earliest we will release 1.6.0 is in about 4 weeks (minimum time from beta to final allowed by our development process), but we can continue adding new localizations in 1.6.x releases as needed. Translators do not need to sign the contributors agreement but the translations do need to reference the standard CUPS license (part of the template file). Apple doesn't actually ship the translations in OS X... I'll be posting an announcement to this effect on the cups.org home page sometime soon.,,

Hello, Some changes will be introduced in the next package release of virtualbox. - vboxbuild will be dropped in favor of upstream provided dkms config. (FS#30692) (FS#30749) (FS#28792) You will be able to build your virtualbox modules by running $ dkms install vboxhost/4.1.18 or you can let dkms rc script compile/install/load your modules with $ rc.d start dkms - vboxweb and vboxservice gain systemd service files (FS#30725) - vbox-service will be renamed into vboxservice and config file is now backuped. (FS#30692) - virtualbox-archlinux-additions add a new group named vboxsf (FS#30725) - a new package (virtualbox-archlinux-source) will allow compilation (via dkms) of virtualbox guest kernel modules. Hello everybody, I am creating live media and want to reduce size. After removing /usr/include/ wicd fails to start because of a missing header file. Is this expected behavior? [arch-general] Systemd with encrypted Btrfs

Hello all, After all the intense discussions about systemd I decided to try it out and see for myself. I tried it out on my desktop and was quite impressed by it - it was much faster than the earlier initscript. Further when I would background a daemon (say the network daemon) in rc.conf, I would have to wait for a while even after I logged in for the network to start, whereas in systemd I find the necessary daemons have already started by the time I login. However I ran into a couple of problems running it on my laptop: 1. I have an encrypted swap that randomly generates a new passphrase everytime I reboot, but systemd asks me for a passphrase every time I boot. On pressing enter or entering any random characters it proceeds normally. This is more of an annoyance than a real problem. 2. I have an encrypted btrfs partition which it unlocks normally, but while trying to mount says: "fsck: fsck.btrfs: not found fsck: Error 2 while executing fsck.btrfs for /dev/mapper/myvolume" and this stops the whole boot process. I have to disable that partition on fstab to get systemd to boot properly. Once the boot process is complete, I can see that the decryption has proceeded normally (from systemctl -a) and can remount it normally in a manual fashion. I initially thought that creating fsck.btrfs as a symlink to btrfsck might do the job, but that doesn't work either. Does anybody have any experience successfully mounting (encrypted or not) btrfs partitions using systemd? Thanks, Aurko
