[arch-general] netctl-auto and netctl refuse to work (probably due to wpa_supplicant)

Hello, I cannot connect to wifi networks using netctl or netctl-auto. Some journalctl -xe output is attached. The only action I could remember that could have had anything to do with this was an upgrade of wpa_supplicant, so I googled and found [0]. However, unlike the commenters on that bug, it still didn't work after downgrading wpa_supplicant. Did anyone else experience anything similar? I'm using intel network hardware. You can easily search the bug tracker[1] yourself, and help out with bugs in packages you are familiar with. Maintaining packages is usually not very time-intensive for the maintainers. So I think that there is little to offer there. Besides that, you can have a look at this page[2] for more things to do. Basically, you don't have to be a TU to help out on most tasks. Unfortunately it doesn't work with the live CD. Faulty key then. Yes, the others work. I just plugged a keyboard in and the arrow works. Do you have a keyboard you can plug in?

Hi, I've just done a new arch install on my Dell laptop and have noticed that the right arrow isn't working. And showkeys doesn't respond to the key being pressed. Is there anything else I can try before assuming it's a hardware problem? Many thanks, Peter

[arch-general] best practices for rebuilding packages

Hello. If I have a package build from aur that depends on a library, and the library is updated, and package from aur requires rebuild, is it possible to somehow track and automate that? In other cases maintaining such configurations may be the trouble as you have to remember what aur packages depend on your library. Another question: what about modifying aur/abs pkgbuilds, like I replace the whole configure line because I want to do so, but to do such a configuration for a new version of the package, I have to manually modify any new pkgbuild I get to get the same result. How to make it nicer?

[arch-general] Installing Arch on an Alienware Machine

Salutations, I am trying to get Arch Linux to install on my Alienware machine, but I am having a bit of bad luck. First and foremost, I can't get sound to work with the Talking Arch distribution, which is basically the Arch live CD with espeakup and brltty installed. I did not have any luck with alsactl init. Secondly, does Wi-Fi-menu use AES out of the box, or will I have to write a handwritten config for the university Wi-Fi___33? And finally, are there kernel modules for the Killer Wi-Fi___33 drivers? Here are the specifications for the machine: Sound: SoundBlaster Recon 3dI Bluetooth: Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Graphics: Intel Imbedded and NVidia GeForce GTX 970M Ethernet: Killer E2200 WiFi: N/A/C 1525 Wireless Adapter Processor: Intel Core I7 Help would be greatly appreciated. [arch-general] QEMU and the spicec client

The QEMU page on the wiki [1] has a section on the "spice" support in the qemu package [2], which also mentions the "spicec" client program. As far as I remember, it has been part of the qemu package, but now it seems to be gone and even pkgfile can't find it. Does anybody know what happened?
