It does not bother me that an upstream dev asks the maintainer to add some warnings about the early state of an application and the need of proper bug reports. And I'm fine with giving warnings about that. What I do not understand is him asking for the removal of a package. If he put a public svn he should accept that code is checked out from it. Anyway I do agree with the benefit of understanding and collaboration between open source communities.

http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=41471 Reason: a duplicate of samba4 http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=40043 Background: Previous maintainer created samba4-openchange because openchange relies on a specific version of samba4 but samba4 advanced beyond that version. This is no longer the case, and in addition there doesn't seem to be much use of samba4 currently except for openchange (this is also the case in Debian/Fedora).

Hi, I'm currently the maintainer of 34 packages (mostly security related) and I would like to transfer them to someone else since I don't use Arch Linux anymore as my main distribution. However I would prefer not to leave the packages unmaintained, so please email me (include my email address as I'm not subscribed to this list) if you are interesting in adopting some of the packages. Hello all. I would like apply to become a TU! Daenyth has decided to sponsor me for my TU application I'm 21 years old and a Bachelor student Computer Science. I have experience with C++, C, x86 ASM, Java, Python, PHP, SQL and javascript. I use archlinux on daily basis as a server and as desktop on my laptop. Since a year I am a maintainer at the Arch-Games project[0], since then i learned how to deal with makepkg, libpng/libjpeg patches, rebuilding packages for boost/python. Also learning how to work and setup clean chroots for 32 and 64 bit and how to improve PKGBUILDs and use tools like git/svn/namcap. I have had much fun and hard work working on updating packages for arch-games, Daenyth really helped me a lot and #archlinux and #archlinux-offtopic guys too ;) Also I must admit i have learned a lot from Ioni. I would like to become a Trusted User, so I can help packaging for community since something there are a lot of orphan packages so I will be always prepared to update/improve those packages. I would love to see improvements like more splitting of packages which has been done with packages like compiz. Also creating more any packages would be better for our mirrors. Since we didn't have much space for packages, I have had to split much data packages to "any". My current packaging interests are haskell, LaTeX, cli apps, virtualization. qutim-plugin-floaties-latest[1] was a dupe of qutim-plugin-floaties[2] (that was out of date). I asked [2] to orphan and [1] to adopt and update. You can now delete [1]. I would like to move ibus-table-wubi [1][2] from community because it hasn't been updated since 27/12/2009 and it has been marked as deprecated upstream when you go to download it.
