Hallo everyone, I would like to request adoption of Google Music beta Desktop Manager [google-musicmanager] PKGBUILD[1]. it doesn't seem to be updated anymore by its creator. [aur-general] Removal Requests

netmaze (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=1842) - Very old (1996) unfinished multiplayer game. 2 votes, no maintainer, PKGBUILD not updated since 2005. fxsudoku (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=Merge/4053<https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=4053>) - Dead project, dead source link. Mirrors exist but it only has 2 votes, no maintainer and the PKGBUILD hasn't been updated since 2006. Lastly, what is the 'policy' around old games and putting a link to the actual game data? Some people would class it as abandonware but if it is still sold then surely it isn't abandonware and is just piracy. For example hmm2 (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=33015), doom2 ( http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=33036) and dune2 ( http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=33037) all have a source link to the rar-ed game data at oldgames.ru.

[aur-general] skype Segment fault and lib32-gconf

Hi all, I'm running into segment fault when starting skype (from [multilib]). After some tests, I notice that when i uninstall lib32-gconf, it seems to solve the problem. Can someone reproduce the error for me? Basically 1- Have installed skype and lib32-gconf 2- Run skype (error expected) 3- Uninstall lib32-gconf 4- Run skype (success expected) Thanks -- Rafael

If that is all your questions then this is the wrong place to ask. In fact, it would then be wrong to even ask. It is only correct to read: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Python_Package_Guidelines Don't worry, I'm not _that_ newbie, I was just talking about arch, not IT... Thanks for pointing that document btw, it's (badly) covering one of the questions I had. 1) Why is this "template" not used by most packages I've seen ? 2) What is the main difference between build() & the optional package() function ? (appart the error handling) 3) Why most packages I've seen are splitting build() and package() operations ? (build for .py? building & package for install part) 4) What is the recommended way to remove files from package ? (files that may be required at "setup.py build" step) Thanks for your kind support...

[aur-general] Orphaning out-of-date packages

Andrea suggested this about two months ago [1] - it's time to take the gloves off. I just created a list of packages that have been flagged out-of-date for almost 6 months now and still have a maintainer [2]. If you maintain any of these packages, feel free to update it. Hello, Can you merge virtualbox_bin into virtualbox-bin ? The reason are those requested by josephgbr in https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=9753 <quote> The reason I'm asking this is that every time I update my packages with "yaourt -Syua", the package "virtualbox-ext-oracle" is listed first than this package ('-' come first than '_') and I always have to reinstall again after virtualbox_bin in order to work.
