Hi all, It looks like Spotify had paid some small amount of attention to the request that they change their license to allow redistribution, or that they give permission to redistribute to specific Linux distros, which is the main thing blocking Spotify from being in the repos instead of on the AUR. Today they have marked the issue as "new" and left a note saying they are assessing its popularity by waiting for people to vote for it. Hi everyone, Firstly, I'd like to apologize to all the people who've been waiting on support requests that I haven't been able to follow up on. I should've made the circumstances of my situation clearer to the people that depended on me. Secondly, hopping back into packaging in is turning out to be a lot harder than I thought. It's been two years at my new job. While my schedule doesn't use up a lot of the week, it does leave me tired to the point where I can't support as many people (or packages) as I'd like to. Additional stressors from other parts of life made it hard to keep up with prior activity I maintained before. Finally, there's the communication gaps that happened from needing to reconfigure email clients on both desktop and phone. Thus, it'd be best to orphan the packages so they can find new homes. Or request co-maintainers for packages where I have written code for upstream, but don't know who to contact to check for willing packagers. Of the packages I want to be co-maintained, the Compiz-Reloaded packages are the highest priority in finding a new maintainer. Those are pretty popular, and I still use those myself everyday. If there's a package you'd like to adopt or co-maintain, please let me know. I've found way to publish built packages to github pages, but it's absolutely not enough to just put them somewhere. In case that there would still be other packages left at the time you'll leave, I'd probably consider picking up some more. [aur-general] Virtualbox quite suddenly can't access shared folder anymore

Hi, on 2019-07-25 systemd-udev-reload.hook was running, let alone that I rebooted, before later that day, I used a shared folder by a Windows 7 guest, without experiencing an issue. I don't notice a related upgrade since then, systemd-udev-reload.hook wasn't running anymore, but I rebooted in the meantime. If I try to use a shared folder today, Windows 7 crashes and the VirtualBox log mentions "Failed to open "/dev/vboxdrvu", errno=13, rc=VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_ACCESSIBLE". I tried with two kernels. I don't know if it is related to udev at all. $ pacman -Q virtualbox-bin virtualbox-bin 6.0.10-1 $ ls -hAld /dev/vbox* crw------- 1 root root 10, 56 Jul 27 13:00 /dev/vboxdrv crw------- 1 root root 10, 55 Jul 27 13:00 /dev/vboxdrvu crw------- 1 root root 10, 54 Jul 27 13:00 /dev/vboxnetctl drwxr-x--- 3 root vboxusers 60 Jul 27 13:00 /dev/vboxusb As soon as possible, I need to use the guest with a shared folder again, but I don't have a clue how to fix the issue. [aur-general] Advise on updating/uploading binary package

I've been using cin-git for a while (which draws on cinelerra-gg project). For those who are unfamiliar, there's the 'original' (old and out-of-date) cinelerra, and a newer cinelerra-heroine, and the most popular one is cinelerra-gg. The 'cin-bin' PKGBUILD on AUR points to the original website, and is practically useless in an up-to-date Arch system. For convenience (and because recently some problems have been happening with cin-git), I want to upload a binary verison of cinelerra-gg. As cin-bin is currently quite useless (and IMO the -gg project is the real heir of the cinelerra heritage), is there any reason I shouldn't adopt it and update it to point to cinelerra-gg binary package?

I'd like a sanity check! Waybar has a dependency on a C++ logging library called spdlog. This project depends on fmt and by default uses an included copy. I've raised a ticket about removing this but it doesn't look like the developer is interested [2]. In this case, I feel it expedient to patch out the logic to use the bundled headers [2] and outright remove the directories [3]. Am I correct in this conclusion or is this too far-reaching?
