Hi, I'm trying to install icecat with yaourt but get always error: No space left on device. $ df -H Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sda3 66G 38G 26G 60% / tmpfs 3.2G 0 3.2G 0% /dev/shm tmpfs 3.2G 0 3.2G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup tmpfs 3.2G 3.2G 160k 100% /tmp tmpfs 627M 4.1k 627M 1% /run/user/1000 I have installed my arch linux on one partition only, on /dev/sda3. I tried to install icecat several times, moreover after a reboot too, but always get this error message. I tried also to setup yaourt and makepkg: /etc/yaourtrc TMPDIR="/tmp" /etc/makepkg.conf BUILDDIR=/tmp/makepkg Still get the above error. What can I do to solve this problem? -- Regards from Pal

Hi folks, In [extra] we've printproto, evieext and their libraries (libxp and libxevie), which are of no use. Because, both extensions have been droped from xorg-server 5 years ago: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=f4036f6 http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=1c8bd31 The first version of xorg-server without those extensions was 1.6.0, which was added in March 2009: https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/commit/trunk?h=package… Removing evieext and libxevie should be straight forward, as they aren't required by anything else. For libxp it looks a bit different: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/libxp/ I hope that all required-by's have a switch to disable the dependency to libxp. I've checked at least openmotif: its configure knows a --disable-printing option. (While looking at openmotif [community], I've noticed that it isn't required by anyone. Isn't that a candidate to be moved to AUR?) Then we've libxcb, here xevie and xprint have to be disabled explicitly as they're enabled by default. It's not a bug to keep the packages and they don't eat much space on the harddisk. So, I don't have any better argument then saying: they don't serve any purpose. But, for quite some time I wanted to point at them. So, is it in your interest to get rid of them? Would you like to do it? Thanks for your patience and thanks for Arch, Daniel Martin

Hello, I'm trying to dual boot Arch with Windows 8.1 on an HP Pavilion 15-n216sf with Windows 8.1 pre-installed. I have followed https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Unified_Extensible_Firmware_Interface https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Grub I copied the ARCH install ISO to a USB stick with dd and installed ARCH in the usual way. In arch-chroot, I mounted the ESP /dev/sda2 in /boot/efi and ran grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=grub --recheck --debug with no errors. Then I ran grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg On boot, GRUB is not loaded at all, the laptop boots on Windows 8.1. After pressing F9 fo the boot options menu, there is one entry starting with grub, selecting this entry keeps booting Windows. There is a grubx64.efi file in /boot/efi/grub. I have copied /etc/grub.d/40_custom from the section https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Grub#Dual-booting with the relevant UUID changed to be that of /dev/sda2 (ESP). So I can't find a way to dual boot with ARCH and I'm stuck with this. Hello all, I want to send mail alert, when messages comes in via UDP. But having following error at start: Error parsing destination, destination plugin smtp not found in smtp( ^^^^ I did a @module smtp on top of conf after @version. getting: Plugin module not found in 'module-path'; module-path='/usr/lib/syslog-ng', module='smtp' I looked: pwd /usr/lib/syslog-ng [root@ns42 syslog-ng]# ls libafamqp.so libafmongodb.so libafsocket-notls.so libafsocket.so libafuser.so libconfgen.so libcsvparser.so liblinux-kmsg-format.so libsyslogformat.so libaffile.so libafprog.so libafsocket-tls.so libafstomp.so libbasicfuncs.so libcryptofuncs.so libdbparser.so libsyslog-ng-crypto.so libsystem-source.so a syslog-ng --module-registry |grep smtp gives nothing. hmm, what next? [arch-general] Event loop problem

I've been having a problem related to epoll_ctl() lately. I have a 3-tier system: 1. back tier (tcp server) 2. middle tier (udp server) 3. front tier The problem is happening in the back tier. If I kill the middle tier with a control-C and then restart it (before making any requests via the front tier), the socket descriptor (associated with the middle tier) in the back tier is 7. But If I first make some requests via the front tier, then kill the middle tier and restart it, the socket descriptor is 1. When the socket descriptor is 1, I get an EBADF on an epoll_ctl with an op of EPOLL_CTL_MOD. It's not on the first call to epoll_ctl that it fails, but the third call. My debugging shows that the epfd and fd are the same for all three of these calls. I've tried many things to get the back tier to not give me the socket descriptor of 1. I've tried calling daemon(), freopen'ing stdin, stdout, and stderr, and a few other things. I've tried doing these things only in the parent, only in the child and in both. Nothing has worked. Hi all, I installed 64-bit arch on a low memory laptop (1G) not thinking about the higher memory requirement. Now I wonder, whether I can approach to change it by changing the pacman.conf entry Architecture = auto to Architecture = i686 and reinstall all explicitly installed packages. I feel like it should work. Any "don't do that"s, "go for it"s, "I did it"s out there :o)). -- Friedrich
