[arch-general] Some icons don't work anymore since update to Gnome 2.30

Hi, I've upgraded to Gnome 2.30 today, which worked quite great so far. I'm astonished by the speed such updates get into the repositories, you are doing a great job! However I've experienced a strange issue. Whenever I try to click on some of my icons on the desktop (e.g. "Computer", "Home", "Trash"), the desktop seems to get refreshed, and nothing happens. Other icons (text files, movies) work just like expected, so I don't know what the issue could be. When I start Nautilus from the menu, it works also just great, so there has to be something with the icons wrong? Can anyone reproduce/confirm this? Hello all, I wanted to do a new install today, using netinstall on an USB stick which has worked at least 5 times before, the last time less than two weeks ago. Things failed in the 'Configure System' phase, seems I didn't have an /etc under /mnt (and yes I did have a '/' partition and it was mounted on /mnt !). Do I need a new /arch/setup ? Hi, According to ldd, the heimdal package in [testing] is still linked against openssl 0.9.8. This shouldn't be the case, should it? -- Chris

Hi All I managed to get X up although the keyboard is always on US in stead of BE layout, but I think I can find that one out. I also tried to get wifi access but I cannot get the driver installed. [arch-general] RAID 1 - Grub Problem / not finding stage1 file

Hello alltogether I am desperatly trying to get raid working. Currently I have Arch installed on /dev/sda and I would like to make an RAID 1 Array out of it (using /dev/sdb). I followed the guide from the wiki (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Convert_a_single_drive_system_to_RAID) and now I am stuck when I try to install grub on my newly created raid1-drive (Chapter 3.6 in the Wiki). Everytime I do a find /grub/stage1, grub only discovers the stage1 file on /dev/sda, but not the one on my raid-drive (/dev/sdb). I have tried this normally and from within the chroot environment, with no success. When I try to install the bootloader manually via root(hd1,4) setup(hd1) grub gives the error 14: filesystem compatibility error. I have absolutly no idea, what I can do now. /dev/sdb5 is a ext2 filesystem with type "Linux Raid Autodetect", containig all the necessary files (mounting the partition and doing an ls shows the stage1 file). Any help on what I should do now is greatly appreciated Thanks Benedikt

[arch-general] Problem with suspend

Hi, I'm configuring suspend/resume on an Acer 1810TZ, but I have a small problem. I already set it up to suspend when I close the lid, I modified /etc/acpi/actions/lm_lid.sh to this: #! /bin/sh DISPLAY=:0 /bin/su csm -c "/usr/bin/i3lock -c 000044" /usr/sbin/pm-suspend It works as expected, turns off the wifi, etc., restores fine when I hit a button. So I would think that running pm-suspend from a terminal would work also, but it hangs on /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/98-smart-kernel-video. If I move that file away, it suspends, but then the screen isn't restored on resume, it's blank. The worst part of it is that it worked from the command line once, but back then I didn't know that hibernating with kms-enabled intel chips results in memory corruption, and it killed my root partition so bad I had to reinstall. And now it's not working. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. csm
