[aur-general] Merging ruby-jekyll into a single package

Hi there! Jekyll is currently a bit of a mess on the AUR. There's packages for several "plugins", like ruby-jekyll-pagination, and several others. However, these are not plugins in the traditional sense of the word: jekyll won't run if they're not installed, so they're more like libraries. Libraries that are only used inside jekyll and are not designed to be used independently. So there's very strong codependency. ruby-jekyll-pagination and ruby-jekyll end up depending on each other mutually. Again, "-pagination" is merely an example, there's plenty of these. Someone suggested merging these into a single package: they're diferente upstream gems, but only work in unison, and are useless separately, so I'm inclined to simplify this on our side (KISS, right?). Would this course of action be deemed appropriate? Is it acceptable? I know we usually don't bundle stuff like this in AUR, but this seems like a strong exception, since we're talking about packages with mutual codependency. Thoughts? [aur-general] How To Submit Fix for AUR - Merge Request

Howdy All, This will (hopefully) be my first time submitting a merge request to an existing package (p4) within the AUR. The trouble I am having, it that it is unclear, for me, how this process should work. Reading the wiki page on this[1] mentions that it can be done. I have a local copy of the updated PKGBUILD file, verified that it works via makepkg --source and installs correctly via pacman. I have followed the Arch Package Standards[2] and everything looks to be in order. The trouble I am having is _how_ to submit the request via the AUR website. The wiki briefly alludes that I should: 1) Submit my version of the changes as a *new* package. For example: upload p4-abrenner as a new package on the submit page[3] 2) Then go ahead to the original package page, p4, and select the File Request link[4]? Is this correct? If not, what fundamental concept am I missing? [aur-general] Unable to recover my password

Hello, I'm pretty sure I've already created an AUR account in the past. My common username is "M-Reimer" and AUR says this is already taken. I've tried all my mail addresses, I have in use, to recover my password. Seems like the AUR server is unable to send mail? Would be nice if someone could have a look at this. Manuel
