[arch-general] Xorg strange keyboard behaviour

Good morning, since a few days I'm experiencing an unwanted behaviour in X: after some time, apparently when cycling keyboard layouts, the key just don't work as expected anymore. For example pressing RALT will give return, the left arrow will be remapped to change group etc. Terminating and restarting X will remove the problem; everything works fine on terminals. The error is not reproducible but seems to be related to/caused by layout switching. And I'm switching very often. I'm using Openbox 3.4.7.2, Kxkb, Xorg 1.6.3.901-1. On my second box where I use wmii with keybound scripts for layout switching the error didn't show up yet. I'm appending xorg.conf, xkb configuration, and selected output of xev _after_ the error occured. Feel free to request any logs. Thanks for Your help! Philipp

Hi First of all, I have [testing] enabled and I'm on 32bit. I wanted to take a look at these two alternatives of matlab. Both of them don't work here, both are complaining about a missing library error while loading shared libraries: libgfortran.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory After installing gcc-fortran it worked, so it seems like we need a rebuild here with corrected dependencies for [testing] (octave) and [community-testing] (scilab) Greetz Army

I use dolphin, and when I right click on a folder, I can execute a command "Open Terminal Here" through the popup menu. My question is Can I do so when I right click the blank area of dolphin folder view?

I have wondered why that extension was in my browser, I think the problem began because I copied a profile from the system microsoft windows xp that I use occasionally. If it is an extension to your browser, whatever system, you are advised to disable it. there is some links to reports new. Guys, New strange error while I troubleshoot the dead X intel card issue. As mentioned, I have managed to get twm and openbox running in vncserver on the box with the intel card. kde4 apps will run, but look terrible due to the difference in color-depth, etc., so I was trying to get kde3/kate or kwrite running. I have always been able to run the kde3 apps from both twm and openbox before, but now I get the following error: /opt/kde/bin/kwrite: error while loading shared libraries: libqt-mt.so.3: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 same error with kate, and just about any other kde3 app. Any way to fix this? I like vim, but I admit, I am a bit quicker with multiple kate/kwrite windows at my disposal. I don't think this would be related to the X problem, but... could it be? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. [arch-general] pkgbuild of tightvnc doesn't produce and installable package?

Guys, I'm obviously doing something wrong. I set up abs, then copied the tightvnc package to my build dir, then I built it with makepkg -s (built clean - no errors), then I went to install it and it bombed. 03:24 dcrgx2:~/arch/abs/tightvnc> sudo pacman -U tightvnc-1.3.10_unixsrc.tar.bz2 loading package data... error: missing package metadata in tightvnc-1.3.10_unixsrc.tar.bz2 error: 'tightvnc-1.3.10_unixsrc.tar.bz2': invalid or corrupted package What metadata am I missing? [arch-general] enlightenment e-svn (e17) segfaults with standard setup, OK with minimalist (battery module)

Devs, I don't know if I should bug this since it is a svn package, but enlightenment (the e-svn package) segfaults and cannot recover if you choose the standard setup. It goes through the initial setup screens OK, but as soon as it tries to start, it segfaults and cannot be recovered. I deleted the ~/.e directory and re-ran setup a few times changing setup options and finally got it to load fine choosing the minimalist setup. I then went through the modules to see if I could find the one causing the problem. Sure enough, as soon as I attempted to load the battery module - WHAM segfault-unrecoverable. I know nothing about enlightenment as I had never event loaded it before a few days ago when troubleshooting the intel X crash issue, and then just e16. Tonight was my first time to load e17, so I don't know how much help I'll be troubleshooting the problem. But, before I did anything, I wanted to ask whether I should bug it, or just send this email since it was listed as a svn package (e-svn). Let me know... -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
