I've submitted `base-extras` to the AUR at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/base-extras/ that contains the missing packages from `base` if someone REALLY wants it.

[arch-general] SIgned Kernel Modules - new wiki page

Since the kernel now separates verification of signed modules from the enforcement policy whether to allow unverified modules to be loaded or now I thought it's time to explore. The enforcement policy can be compiled in or turned on at run time via boot option to kernel. I now have it working to sign all the in tree modules as well as the out of tree modules. In my case I'm signing virtualbox and wireguard. In case it's helpful I created a wiki page outlining what I did to get this working. [arch-general] trouble upgrading knewstuff

Hello, after upgrading my system yesterday plasma didn't work properly, the dektop didn't show wallpapers but remained black, dolphin and kontact didn't start, due to undefinded symbol in libKF5NewStuffCore.so.5.62.0. I temporarily solved the problem by downgrading the package to version 5.20.0. Maybe someone can fix the problem in version 5.62.0? Kind regards Will

[arch-general] Broken dependency in extra - java-openjfx

Hi, to update my install I needed to remove java-openjfx. Probably an unneeded package, however, it's still provided by extra. Should I open a bug report or is fixing it already in the pipeline? All, Not sure if this is important or not, but I thought I would pass it along. During update tonight, when the post-transaction hooks ran, I received the following related to creating temporary files: :: Running post-transaction hooks... ( 1/16) Creating system user accounts... ( 2/16) Reloading system manager configuration... ( 3/16) Creating temporary files... error: command failed to execute correctly ( 4/16) Arming ConditionNeedsUpdate... [arch-general] Gnome-keyring + Seahorse 3.34.0 are breaking Mate logout / shutdown.

Hello. I noticed today that gnome-keyring with seahorse 3.34.0 broke Mate-desktop logout / shutdown process. When I wanted to shutdown my computer, I got a dialog box telling me that "at-spi-bus-launcher" was not answering, asking me if I wanted to wait or to kill the process. I had to switch to another tty and reboot by hand using a sudo reboot command :( I tried downgraded recently upgraded package and the one that reverts the bug was gnome-keyring going back to 3.31.91 version :( I opened a bug on archlinux bugtracker: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/63995 Do you have this bug too? Hello, Open Invention Network (OIN) is a patent non-aggression community that supports freedom of action in Linux as a key element of open source software. I've seen that the OIN includes several different distributions (Gentoo, Ubuntu derivatives etc). Would ArchLinux benefit from inclusion in this set? kmail crashes when selecting an mail item containing an attachment. It seems to happen specially when it's a PDF attachment, I have not tested all types of attached files. gdb backtraces up to libZXingCore.so. Downgrading zxing-cpp from 1.0.7 to 1.0.6 resolves the issue. For information.
