Hello, when I try to download freerct-git using aura (using "aura -Aw freerct-git"), I'm just getting the following output: aura >>= Downloading `freerct-git` source tarball... But where is it saved? Cannot find the tarball or any other related artifact. Kind regards Peter

[arch-general] Can't change tty's since last update

Hey hey, since my last update, today, I sometimes can't change ttys. Using showkey I have checked that both the alt key and the f-keys are coming through. Might this be a kernel issues. I believe I came from 5.0.x and am now on 5.2.3. May it further be an indication that my jackd settings have lead to major xruns on input, using jackd1? Does anyone have an idea, maybe even where else to look for suspects? [arch-general] pango 1:1.44-1 Renders Bitmap Fonts as Boxes.

Hi, To save others' time, on upgrading to pango 1:1.44-1 today my terminal emulator and other programs displayed empty boxes instead of bitmap-font glyphs. This is due to deliberate dropping of support by Pango. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/pango/issues/386 I don't think xterm(1) uses Pango given ldd(1)'s output, and it's happily displaying nice crisp glyphs. -- Cheers, Ralph.

Dear Adérito, Arch Linux is, by design, a Linux distribution specifically for advanced Linux users, not for beginners. Therefore, the installation is more difficult (but also more flexible, if you know what you are doing). I assume that in the talkingarch variant this is similar, or the same - difficult for beginners of Linux. I also understand that you still wish to try out this Linux variant, and once it is installed this will be easier than it is now. It would perhaps be useful to find a user of Arch Linux locally, in your city, who can assist you during installation. There are Arch Linux user groups in many cities around the world.
