Folks I have an arch_64 installation. The process is istill running after 6 hours. Is it normal? Are there any other ovpn clients you would recommend? Regards, Victor

[arch-general] Still no word on Apache httpd 2.4

It has been released as stable since 2012-08-21 (over two months ago) http://httpd.apache.org/ and flagged out of date since mid September (over a month ago), and I've e-mailed the maintainer offering to help update if they're busy, yet I get no response. I would have imagined that something as big as Apache httpd would be updated far more frequently, at least in testing, and there are lots of new features 2.4 brings to the table - http://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/new_features_2_4.html James Cleveland

[arch-general] Issues with torrents

First of all, I don't know if this is the right place to ask such a question, so excuse me if it turns to be it isn't. Some days ago I realized that most of my torrents (mostly related to the openbittorrent tracker but also including another ones (The arch iso torrent works, though) ) fail to download. The information about how many seeders/leechers are is displayed, but the count of how much seeders I'm connected to remains 0 and no download happens. In my low knowledge of troubleshooting networking issues I've tried to ping those trackers that are giving me problems, getting on all of them a 100% packet loss. Also, traceroute is not able to give me a full route of the packets. I've tried to flush my pdnsd cache, change dns but I keep getting the same result after repeating the above I ask on this mailing list because I'm experiencing this on both my home connection and at the university so I thought It could be something related to my computer or something in common in both connections. I don't know and I'm completely lost in this. Should I assume that this is something beyond my reach and try to live with it while it gets solved on another level? Thank you in advance

Having to handle those as well will get complex.

[arch-general] Filesystem and /etc/shadow

Hello, The update to filesystem-2012.10-2 brings with it a new /etc/shadow. This is one of the cases in which inspecting the diff between what I have and the .pacnew doesn't give any insight (to clueless users such as me). Could anyone provide a summary of what we should change in our current /etc/shadow? Thanks, Manolo --

Are there any plans for eventually adopting Wayland over X? Other bleeding edge distros mentioned they will be adopting it [1], [2] I am not saying Archlinux should follow, just asking if there is (was) any discussion about it.
