pacman - errors with expac already existing, then errors on clean cache??

All, devs, During a system update minutes ago, I was hit with two separate pacman errors. The first, /usr/bin/expac and the man1 page already existed in the filesystem prevented update. I removed expac -dd, did the system update, then went to reinstall expac (devtools dependency) and I could not install it for the same errors - the same files continued to exist in the filesystem. So I rm'ed /usr/bin/expac and the man1 man-page and then installed it without issue. What's up with expac?? What is the cause of the empty directories throwing errors on cache cleaning? Do I just need to manually delete the directories? Last update was just about two weeks ago and there were no errors on either issue at that time. Really strange. Not too many times in the past 16+ years that pacman has hiccuped. -- David C. Anyone Else Having Errors with python-autobahn

Howdy All, I first noticed this when using magic-wormhole, but it showed up in a couple other commands too before I found the problem. I rebuilt and installed python-autobahn and problems went away. Problems included wormhole segfaulting and some other key related errors. I thought I had all this stuff written down, but either forgot what I named the file or didn't save it, so sorry I don't have pastes of actual output. -- ⛈🐲

This means, either, the function is overridden in that namespace and the file it resides in isn't loaded, OR, the "real" function was imported into that namespace, but again in a file that isn't loaded. To me this looks more like a bug in the nextcloud rather than PHP I did see a ticket being opened on nextcloud talking about this same thing, presume this was yourself? > >

Bluetooth issues

So, I have this problem with Nothing Ear bluetooth earbuds. They work on my laptops which run Fedora42 and Fedora43. On my main Arch desktop I tested Jaybird Tarah Pro and Sennheiser HD 450BT, both work just fine. I've tried pairing nothing ears again and all things I could think of, trying to figure out what's so different between my arch install and the fedoras. Arch devs, Not real sure where to send this, but there were issues discovered with Virtualbox and the 6.18 kernel by the openSUSE virtualbox maintainer (Jan Engelhardt). I have observed that VirtualBox 7.2.4, which has basically been rolled out in August 2025 and worked just fine, to start showing guest memory corruption in December. Compilers would randomly fail in both OpenBSD and Solaris. Likewise, package installation when running the Leap 15.6 installer ISO would randomly fail. The only thing that changed in that timeframe was the host kernel in Tumbleweed, namely from 6.17 to 6.18. I have already tried applying a vbox patch (e7db388f) from their Git which mentioned corruption, but without positive remedy. So for now, please take note you cannot realistically use VB 7.2.4 with a host kernel version >=6.18. The workaround, for me anyway, is using an older host kernel like 6.17.11. -- David C. To be honest, its a good distro, but the xbps pkg manager and no systemd kinda makes it a bit hard for me. It's also a hassle to install Hyprland (my preferred DE). I want to know your opinions on it!! :3

All, My nextcloud install just started throwing and error when attempting to reach any of the administrator setting, personal settings, apps, etc.. The error is: Call to undefined function OC\\Security\\idn_to_utf8() in file /usr/share/webapps/nextcloud/lib/private/Security/RemoteHostValidator.php line 38 All was fine before the last update of apache and php-legacy in the past day or two. After which I restarted httpd (and postfix which was also updated) The odd part is all the apps in nextcloud, calendar, contacts, notes, etc.. work fine. I stumbled on this problem when I got a notice the teams app needed updating and clicked to go to the update page. Has anyone else seen this, and moreover, does anybody have a fix or workaround? Canon PIXMA TS3750i does not print

Hi, I don't understand how to use a "modern" printer at all. I can't get it to work with an iPad and the "Canon PRINT" app, nor with Arch Linux.
