Hello, dma is now running on Arch Linux but I found one odd thing: There is this function in net.c: static void sig_alarm(int signo __unused) { longjmp(timeout_alarm, 1); } ggc can't handle the __unused attribute: [mickraus@gandalf dma]\$ LANG=us gcc -DHAVE_CRYPTO -o dma dma.c conf.c crypto.c lex.yy.c y.tab.c net.c base64.c -lssl net.c:68: error: expected ';', ',' or ')' before '__unused' net.c: In function 'read_remote': net.c:105: error: 'sig_alarm' undeclared (first use in this function) net.c:105: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once net.c:105: error: for each function it appears in.) After removing the attribute everything works. But in the gcc manual exactly this attribute is listed: http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc-4.3.0/gcc/Function-Attributes.html The original net.c file can be found here: http://opengrok.creo.hu/dragonfly/xref/src/libexec/dma/net.c To compile it on linux you have to include two additional headers: #ifdef __linux #include <stdarg.h> #include <err.h> #endif /* __linux */ Is there a compiler switch that I have overlooked? Assumptions: - $startdir should be used as $srcdir and $pkgdir parent, as it could be useful, for example, to have $pkgdir in a tmpfs => Removed any reference to "$startdir/pkg" or "$startdir/src" => Relative paths to switch between $srcdir and $pkgdir should be avoided. Hi, I'm trying to install a sn9c201 webcam, but I can't find any drivers. On the wiki, the sn9c102 driver is listed, but not the 201. dmesg only listed the following: usb 5-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 42 usb 5-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice The device only came with (Linux) drivers for Fedora Core 4. [arch-general] Postgres failure after system upgrade

Yesterday upgraded my system which happened to include I think from memory as well as postgres 8.3 , php. Not a technical person unfortunately, but my postgres has died with the message below. I wonder if some kind soul could give me some help in tracking down the problem. I've tried looking at the below mentioned files and can't see anything wrong . Perhaps something got overwritten? An help appreciated. Richard The server doesn't accept connections: the connection library reports could not connect to server: Connection refused Is the server running on host "127.0.0.1" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432? If you encounter this message, please check if the server you're trying to contact is actually running PostgreSQL on the given port. Test if you have network connectivity from your client to the server host using ping or equivalent tools. Is your network / VPN / SSH tunnel / firewall configured correctly? For security reasons, PostgreSQL does not listen on all available IP addresses on the server machine initially. In order to access the server over the network, you need to enable listening on the address first. For PostgreSQL servers starting with version 8.0, this is controlled using the "listen_addresses" parameter in the postgresql.conf file. Here, you can enter a list of IP addresses the server should listen on, or simply use '*' to listen on all available IP addresses. For earlier servers (Version 7.3 or 7.4), you'll need to set the "tcpip_socket" parameter to 'true'. You can use the postgresql.conf editor that is built into pgAdmin III to edit the postgresql.conf configuration file. After changing this file, you need to restart the server process to make the setting effective. If you double-checked your configuration but still get this error message, it's still unlikely that you encounter a fatal PostgreSQL misbehaviour. You probably have some low level network connectivity problems (e.g. firewall configuration). Please check this thoroughly before reporting a bug to the PostgreSQL community.

Hi, first of all I'm out of my depth here so be gentle, I was trying to compile digicam beta4 and the compilation process hangs. I found this thread that describes it: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.kde.digikam.user/7917 the answer in digikam forum was: "I have reported this problem to CImg author (David Tschumperlé). After investiguations, he said than all come from an uncompatibilty with gcc 4.3.0 and CImg code. Note than using Gcc 4.2.3 digiKam compile fine." so I asked on CImg forums: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=2036591&forum_id=423277 and the reply was: "Anyway, this is not a bug related to CImg or GREYCstoration, since it compiles fine if you don't set the optimizations with g++ 4.3.0. Also it compiles fine with older versions of g++ (4.2.3 for instance). I suspect some bugs in the compiler optimization procedure which causes the process to hang. I admit this is very annoying, but I can't do anything to solve it, since it is clearly a problem related to the compiler." could somebody take a look at it? What do you think? Cheers waldek
