[aur-general] Question about PKGBUILD guidelines

Hello, This is my first time interacting with a mailing list, so please let me know if I've done something wrong, or I'm asking in the wrong place. I plan to submit a binary PKGBUILD for REXPaint, and since it's distributed as a portable binary for WINE, I have a couple questions about the guidelines: 1. Is it right that it should be installed into /usr/share? 2. How do I properly include files that are necessary for use, but not included in the upstream source? In my case, this would be a .desktop file and a bash script in /usr/bin. My intuition is to use "echo" during the prepare() phase, but I was wondering if there was a cleaner way to do this. 3. In accordance with the Nonfree guidelines, I will name my package 'rexpaint-bin'. However, since there is no open source version yet, do I need to conflict it with 'rexpaint'? Hi, community/wings3d is orphaned and the current package (2.2.5-4) is no longer working due to errors at startup. Dropping to AUR would at least allow posting a comment that bumping PKGBUILD to 2.2.7 (the current development version) fixes the issue. Tested by two users. Hi, I would like to have a confirmation. I encountered a PKGBUILD on AUR that is not building correctly except when systemd is present when building. The maintainer considers the makedeps is implicit as systemd is dragged by base metapackage. However devtools only ensures base-devel is present, not base, when building in a clean chroot. And I could not find a mention in the wiki of base expected to be present when writing a PKGBUILD. Could you confirm to me what are the guidelines? Does systemd (make)dependency should be explicit or not? Regards, -- Cédric Girard

In the case where /dev/sda is selected for installation and an installer chooses to format the whole disk and install a basic partition system on the disk and any other data is already on the disk archinstall errors out. In this case, wipefs -a /dev/sda run first clears the pre-existing data and partition structure and archinstall then operates correctly.

Hi list, I would like to have some feedback for my first PKGBUILD files for packages. the existing pcb-rnd-svn AUR package is currently broken because the project requires a need dependency: librnd3. thus I decided to create all packages needed/related by it, and fix its optional dependencies. I was able to create all packages on a fresh arch, and checked them against namcap. please let me know if the PKGBUILD are OK so I can submit them. thanks, cuvoodoo

Hey there! I'm Morgan, Morganamilo in most places and I'd like to apply to become a Trusted User with dvzrv and kpcyrd's sponsorship. I've been an avid Arch user for the past 5 or so years. I started dipping my toes into the community with some wiki edits, bug reporting and submitted my first AUR package back in 2017. I also love FOSS as a whole, I contribute to random projects here and there, participate where I can and just love the community aspect. These days my main involvement with arch is pacman and the AUR. I started contributing to pacman 3 years ago. Adding stricter pkgbuild linting and fixing a bug here or there. Fast forward to now and I'm one of the maintainers of pacman as well as maintaining the rust bindings for libalpm. On the AUR side I co developed yay, developed paru and also have contributions in pretty much every current AUR helper. So I pretty know the AUR/pacman/makepkg inside out. Some other things I do in and around Arch are: * I maintain a handful of AUR packages * I'm a moderator for the r/archlinux subreddit * I'm a (bit inactive) Bug wrangler * I also maintain a handful of pacman/AUR oriented rust/go libraries * I also go and bug AUR maintainers about broken pkgbuilds I'm a big fan of rust, so a lot of the packages I wish to maintain are rust related. [aur-general] SSH Key Denied Problem

Hello, I assume this is the right mailing list for this kind of thing. I have an account with the AUR and a couple of packages. I'm attempting to update one of those packages and I am getting a permission denied error when trying to clone the git repository. Now, my SSH key has changed and I went ahead and updated my SSH public key in the account settings. But for some reason I still get a permission denied error. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong here, or if there is something an administrator needs to fix, or something else altogether.
