[aur-general] Building a package from a currently installed program

Hi, I have searched for this and not found anything, but it seems like it should be possible. Is there a way to package a currently installed program? I have a friend who is having trouble with a new Arch install getting Orca working. I know for sure my version of Orca is working, so I wanted to package it for him, send it to him, and let him instal with pacman. I'm just not sure how to do it. Of course, if my version of Orca works on his install that means there is a bug somewhere, but he needs it to be working in order to access information to file a bug lol, kind of a catch 22. Hi, I would like to request the orphanage of the package pidgin-latex: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/pidgin-latex/ The reasons: - the package has been flagged out of date nearly 4 months ago - the PKGBUILD does not work - correct and up-to-date PKGBUILDs were provided in the comments - I mailed the maintainer on 11.11. but didn't get an answer I would like to maintain the package in the future. It is orphaned, never updated since submission, and doesn't build. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/zanshin/ If anyone wants to maintain it , I think it should be renamed to python2-zanshin to follow the general naming convention for python libraries.

Hi folks, The package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ada-web-server has been out of date for over a year. The fix appears quite simple, replace the build section with ... build() { git clone --recursive https://forge.open-do.org/anonscm/git/aws/aws.git cd aws DESTDIR=$startdir/pkg make setup build install || return 1 } Can the package be disowned, so that the change is possible ? regards, Rod.
