Not everything that is available only to an aurweb account of the Trusted User type, qualifies as a TU "privilege" Signed-off-by: Eli Schwartz <eschwartz(a)archlinux.org> --- Handy link to context and surrounding discussion: https://lists.archlinux.org/pipermail/aur-general/2018-January/033789.html The current wording of the bylaws indicates that there are two ways for a TU to qualify for special removal due to inactivity: 1) Do not participate in voting, thereby potentially blockading a quorum. 2) Do not participate in general TU'ish activities like maintaining [community], administrating the AUR and the packagers and users therein, being representative of TUs in general on this mailing list by being awesome and stuff, i.e. posting (hopefully useful information that helps AUR users), and... um... voting? Point #2 calls out "performed any action that required TU privileges on the AUR", but does the tu voting interface on aurweb count as that or not? Moreover, do we *want* it to count? It seems to be somewhat defeating the purpose of the process, i.e. as long as a TU doesn't actually block quorum during a vote, they can remain while not actually performing any of the inherent functions of a TU. Now, I would argue that under a common sense interpretation the original intent of the bylaws was almost certainly that voting does not count as a "TU privilege", since a TU is someone who has the "privilege" to administrate AUR packages and users in order to keep good order, and select good packages to upload to [community]. But bylaws exist in order to prevent people from having different interpretations of common sense. Ich hatte in meinem vorherigen Arbeitsplatz Linux in der Firma verwendet bzw eingeführt. Ich würde gerne vortragen wie ich dies getan habe bzw weiter geplant habe. Ich würde eine kleine Presentation bzw. Erklärung mit den Programmen und Code die ich noch dazu habe. Die Presentation werde ich mit Org-Mode machen und dies kann ich bei bedarf dann auch vorstellen. Hi everyone, for a long time I've been both a developer and TU. As a trusted user I wasn't really involved with anything beyond looking for people that could be a good fit to Arch. With recent additions to the team, I'm sure you can keep the ball rolling on your own. Therefore I'm resigning from my TU position and remain "just" a grumpy developer. Bartłomiej

His last commit in the [community] repository: 2017-01-03 2. He doesn't maintain any packages in AUR. 3. His last message to aur-general mailing list: 2014-03-02 4. [aur-general] rewrite git history

Hi, I did git commit and git push into AUR from a PC at my workplace using company email address accidentally, but it is a policy at our company, that email address must not to be public. Can I clean that anyway? I have set my public email address and tried git commit --amend --reset-author using the right email but hook declined. If a TU can rewrite the git history, please write me a private email message.

Hello people Newbie here in Arch Linux. I have a question, which I didn't find in the documentation. What is the proposed way to inform about an AUR build file containing errors? Especially if I e-mailed the maintainer with no response? Thank you!

[aur-general] orphaned packages

Hi all. There are two packages that were just recently orphaned, dvdstyler, and one of its dependencies, wxsvg. I would be willing to adopt these packages if no one else does, but I'm not a programmer and would rather not. I'm pretty sure that dvdstyler is the only application of it's kind for linux, so I'm assuming it's useful to many. Is anyone willing to adopt these packages? Are there alternatives for dvd menu creation (gui) that I'm not aware of?

[aur-general] Package not updating on AUR

Hello, I recently became the co-maintainer of the plex-sub-zero package [1]. I pushed to it's repo, but the version isn't being updated on the AUR. Should the AUR update when I push, or does the maintainer need to do anything? If you check out the PKGBUILD, it shows the updated file.
