[aur-general] Warning 2/2: removing kde-unstable; KDE 4.4 in testing

Hi DEVs and TUs, I am about to move the first wave of KDE 4.4 RC3 packages into testing. These will be x86_64 at first; i686 packages might follow later this evening. There won't be any l10n packages. (they are not needed for testing and rebuild and we'll save disk space and bandwidth this way) The same Information about kde-unstable now apply to testing: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:KDE#Users Note that the kde- unstable repository will be removed soon. If you update you have to use the following commands as pacman is not able to resolve the dependencies otherwise: % pacman -Sy --asdeps qt % pacman -Su All developers and TUs should check their Qt or KDE related packages. Even if they still work you might want to adjust the dependencies. There are some like phonon etc. which are no longer covered by Qt. In general you want at least depend on kdebase-runtime for most apps. (use namcap but don't trust it ;-)) Greetings, Pierre PS: I have problems with akonadi and mysql 5.1.43. [aur-general] orphaning oregano

oregano seems to be upstream abandoned(last release is from 2007) and I'd like to orphan it and move it to the aur(unless some TU wants to adopt it in community). So, anyone interested?

[aur-general] Partial Inactivity

Hi, Since I am still moving (now to a new apartment), I have not internet connection there, I am getting it but I don't know when they will install me the connection (people says that if I am lucky it will be a week, but I really don't know) I have internet connection on the job (a decent one) and I could bring my laptop to do some updates or something, but eventually my response time won't be short (1 day or more). So I decided to mark myself as away (or Andrea a.k.a bash will send an e-mail asking for my deletion haha :P) but eventually I hope to handle this situation. [aur-general] visualboyadvance rebuilds

When trying to rebuild visualboyadvance for the new jpng stuff, I run into errors compiling. I believe it may be related to the gcc patch not being present in SVN. [aur-general] TU Resignation abhidg

Hi all, So long ... Real life has been getting busier and busier lately, with my final year in university coming up. I've not been able to devote much time to Arch in the last month at all; thus I'm resigning as a Trusted User. I've a few packages in [community], many of them are scientific packages which I used once. I hope someone will take them up, otherwise they can move to unsupported. Arch was my first exposure to open-source contribution and it's been a great two years! Thanks to everyone (Hugo, Aaron, Allan, and others who have helped me) and also Varun, thanks to whom I could become a part of this community. PS I really hope someone makes a stable distro out of the Arch core (Starch? :) ). One of the main reasons for quitting is that I don't have a reliable internet connection where I'm most of the time, and can't keep up with a rolling release any more. PPS The zsi package has a missing dep (python-setuptools). Could someone fix it? Thanks! Regards, Abhishek Dasgupta

[aur-general] please orphan mutt-sidebar

The mutt-sidebar package is not updated anymore and the contributor does not answer to email messages. This has lead to the mistaken creation of an analogue mutt-with-sidebar package. I guess that a TU could orphan mutt-sidebar, so it can be updated and mutt-with-sidebar can be removed. Thanks Giorgio Lando - patroclo7
