[arch-general] devtools:mkarchroot fails under sudo

Following Building in a clean chroot I have encountered the following issue, which is related to using sudo mkarchroot The full path is not included (code posted from mkarchroot) should this be fixed? After patching mkarchroot it works with sudo. I'm not sure if this should report to the upstream kernel, want to know any of you have same experiances. Since last kernel update, when i boot my laptop to the desktop, the wifi dead while network manager trying associate to the AP, can't build any connection. Acroding to the log, the wireless work the first time it associated to my AP, this is done by the /etc/rc.d/network, i configured in rc.conf. the second time it associate is when entered the desktop, network-manager begin to control the netwok stuff. then the ath9k module crashed. Reboot the system won't help, only turn out that system can't find my wireless. [arch-general] makepkg not working in chrooted environment

Hi folks, I am running a 32-bit chroot on my 64-bit system, and I'm trying to build a few packages from AUR inside the 32-bit chroot. When I run makepkg inside the chroot, it complains about dependencies not being satisfied, even though the dependencies are installed inside the chroot (and in the 64-bit environment, as well). So I'm wondering why it doesn't find the dependencies. I'd love to get this to work and also wouldn't mind helping with debugging this. I just need a few pointers what I would have to look for. awhile back, i believe it was on this list, there was some messages about cleaning up the .<files> in your HOME folder... can someone point me in the right direction here? i swear all i needed to do was export the proper VARS but i cannot seem to find the info now. thanks, C Anthony

I noticed this by compiling the package myself... When I sent this mail, the web page was not updated and I saw an old list of files that did not contain the .so file. I should have tried it first rather than relying on a presumably delayed response on the web site. [arch-general] Spell Checking in Emacs

I have emacs 23.2 running in a normal text console and am trying to spell check using the ispell.el facility in the emacs lisp libraries. I also installed aspell and espell-en packages to resolve the binary program to be used by the emacs ispell function. When I do any of the emacs commands like ispell-buffer or ispell-region and the like, I keep getting a message in the prompt line of emacs saying "Text is read-only" The buffer where I am testing this is most definitely not a read-only buffer. I tested aspell out in a normal terminal on a test text file and that seemed to work OK. Do I have to do anything else to get this working right? I did not set up any config files for aspell; I'm not sure if I have to or not. Can anyone help me out?

Hi, The package djvulibre now conflicts and provides libdjvu, and libdjvu disappeared from the repository. However, judging by the files they provide and the PKGBUILD cached in my abs directory, I don't think they are the same thing. djvulibre does not provide the dynamic linked library as libdjvu does and thus may break other application depending on libdjvu. For instance, /usr/lib/evince/3/backends/libdjvudocument.so from evince package links to /usr/lib/libdjvulibre.so.21, which would be removed if I update the system to allow djvulibre to replace libdjvu. What's happened to the libdjvu package? Why is it removed from repository? Should I file a bug report? Best Regards,

I think this is useful information: all soft installed from aur need to be reinstalled with changing line like "python setup.py blah-blah" to line "python2 setup.py blah-blah". Because some packages still aren't touched(e.g. charm). So, something like that. --
