[arch-general] Checkgmail doesn't work with perl 5.12 from testing

Hi, Since the update of perl 5.10 to 5.12 yesterday, checkgmail (from community) doesn’t work anymore, it fails with this error : /usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/auto/Glib/Glib.so: undefined symbol: Perl_sv_utf8_upgrade_flags Downgrading to perl 5.10 make it work, and updating checkgmail (with checkgmail --update) doesn’t solve the problem. I didn’t found anything about this problem in Flyspray or in the forums. Thank you, Guillaume Brunerie

Hi, I recently found that my processor is capable of running 64bit OS (it has the lm flag in /proc/cpuinfo) and I am using 32bit Arch which is turn off I think. Hi, Now that Google Chrome is not beta any more and chromium hasn't been updated in the repos yet i think i should install Google-Chrome from AUR. However Chrome for linux is very much behind Chrome for windows so I want to ask to those users who have tried it or are using it that whether i should install the google-chrome package or the google-chrome-beta or google-chrome-dev. While I was changing my nfs server from NFSv3 to NFSv4 I've found our user mapping broken. Before idmapd gets started we need to make sure nfsd module is loaded. If the module is not loaded all files are mapped to nobody the guest account. We load it in the nfs-common init script now. We want to replace the LTS kernel series .27 soon with the .32 series. The .32 series has been in testing now for a while. Please test if anything is broken for you apart from broken modules you have built your own. Maybe we provide module packages in the future. One issue is known in .32 series: OpenOffice has problems with NFSv3 locking mechanism. This can be solved by using NFSv4. Please test and give signoffs. -Andy

How do I create a bootable install disk from an .ISO image I downloaded from the Arch site? I would like to know how to do this via CLI only rather than using a front end GUI like Gnome Baker, K3B, or Brasero. Does anyone know the command to burn the image to disk via CLI and what packages I must have in order to do so?

[arch-general] Configuring Arch to only use a single interface and not probe for another netowrking interface?

Hi all, The subject should spell it out, but what I'm wondering is if there is any way to force Arch to not probe for say eth0 when eth1 is prefered over eth0 and such? Thanks for any help on that question! Basically eth0 is my laptop's ethernet card, while eth1 is the wireless card. While the wireless card is used specifically for Internet connection, the wired is never used at all. I have my laptop configured through the use of netCFG to handle the wireless to make it a bit faster to configure. While that is the case, I would prefer that only that eth1 is used, and would like to see eht0 disappear totally from the list of detected network interfaces if Arches kernel is flexible enough to do this.
