[arch-general] keyboard not working in Xorg after package updates

I upgraded my extremely not-up-to-date server last night (523 packages upgraded). The upgrade generally went well, except for one significant issue: the keyboard is no longer working under Xorg. It works fine in a command line tty though (i.e., ctrl-alt-F1). Not sure what the problem is, as it was working before the upgrade, and I'm fairly certain I've got all the relevant bits installed and loaded, such as: * evdev module loaded * dbus daemon running * hal daemon running * xf86-input-evdev package installed etc. Perhaps related: I saw the following odd sequence of messages in the Xorg.0.log: (II) config/hal: Adding input device Power Button (**) Power Button: always reports core events (**) Power Button: Device: "/dev/input/event2" (II) Power Button: Found keys (II) Power Button: Configuring as keyboard (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Power Button" (type: KEYBOARD) (**) Option "xkb_rules" "evdev" (**) Option "xkb_model" "evdev" (**) Option "xkb_layout" "us" (II) config/hal: Adding input device Power Button (**) Power Button: always reports core events (**) Power Button: Device: "/dev/input/event3" (II) Power Button: Found keys (II) Power Button: Configuring as keyboard (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Power Button" (type: KEYBOARD) (**) Option "xkb_rules" "evdev" (**) Option "xkb_model" "evdev" (**) Option "xkb_layout" "us" Certainly sounds like that could be the cause, but I have no idea why that's happening or how to fix. [arch-general] Apache dead after kernel update - make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:443 - (Solved by 2nd Reboot)

Guys, I don't know what's up here, but I updated the system ( no [testing] ), and rebooted to load the new kernel, and http was dead. On start, the error said it couldn't bind to port 443 because it was already taken -- Huh? Here are what little details I could come up with: [23:28 nirvana:/home/david] # lsof -i | grep 443 [23:28 nirvana:/home/david] # apachectl stop httpd (no pid file) not running [23:28 nirvana:/home/david] # apachectl start (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:443 (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:443 no listening sockets available, shutting down Unable to open logs First time I've seen this one. The latest system update completed fine, so I should be up to date. Apache is: apache 2.2.15-2 php-apache 5.3.2-6 the kernel is: kernel26-2.6.33.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz kernel26-headers-2.6.33.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz I have a second x86_64 Arch box where the hardware and config is close to what I have on the problem box and apache it was working fine. This should be really fast, way faster than using a for loop to read each file.

If the loop will run only a few times it is ok but if the intended purpose is to run hundreds of times then it is better to find an alternative. Maybe you can try to replace the inner loop with something involving 'find ... -exec something' or some recursive grep and mix it with awk, I have found that it can be many times faster than using FOR loops.

Hello all, I installed everything required to use the Brother HL2035 printer as described on the wiki: <http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Brother_HL-2030>. This all worked nicely, the printer shows up in Cups, but nothing gets printed...
